Guest guest
hi, everyone! i am new to this group.Although, i am not new to this medical problem. my son is 7 1/2 months old and has just been casted for his molding helmet. since my husband and i have noticed his " misshapen head " , it has felt like one big fight with our pediatrician. a month ago, we FINALLY got a referral to see a neurosurgeon at childrens hosp in Philly. The orthotic clinic, who is doing his helmet therapy, is wonderful - a very positive environment. I am optimistic about his treatment and i am actually looking forward to starting the therapy. however, i still have an issue with him that i am very worried about. the neurosurgeon said he has torticollis (a mild case). he said that it should resolve on its own and no physical therapy is warranted.i would like to hear from other parents in similar situations. i feel he does have full range of motion but he holds his head tilted when looking toward the right and there is something about his posture that just doesn't seem right. i dont want to have a wait and see attitude about this if there is something that can be done. we did that with his plagio(upon the insistence of his doctors) and it got us nowhere. somebody PLEASE HELP!!! thanks, lesley
