Wow, . This sounds so scary. Good for you realizing it wasn't getting any better and you needed to be evaluated. You are very tough and very smart too and both are going to help you recover. My prayers continue to be with you and certainly will be on Friday.

Bonus too that the doctor is so awesome and gorgeous!! :-)

Getting fixed up on Friday: fingers crossed

....Or so I hope. I just met with the beautiful doctor who will be doing the procedure. I loved him! He was funny, gorgeous, and inspired confidence. (Back off Vennitta, this one is mine too.) My rest week didn't work, so I called my neurologist, and he set the ball rolling.

He told me my MRI was "impressive" and joked that I looked great for somebody with such a bad MRI. Well, gee thanks, doc! :)

(Flattery will get you everywhere.)

Apparently, my head shots made the rounds in neurology. Cerebrospinal fluid hypotension, probably due to a tear in the dura, probably at a nerve root, hypotension causing the brain to sag into the base of the skull and torquing the cranial nerves: why I can't hear right. You guessed it: this feels crappy.

He said this one wont get better on its own, and he's seen people come in after suffering for years. No wonder this felt so permanent. I have tried to tough it out, power through, but dang. It's a relief just knowing it's not my fault, and it looks as bad as it feels. He said it could have started from the fall in December. He said it's usually some sort of accident, and that's really the only one recently. I hit the ground HARD. Oh, and Clooney had this too when he got hurt filming Syriana. My condition is HAWT.

He said that this procedure sometimes doesn't work, and sometimes it seems miraculous.

I walked today and yesterday because I felt better due to my rest week, but I'm rapidly crashing. I'll take the bus the rest of the week, and maybe ask for more time off.

See ya later!

LOL! That's right. Now I have a very fancy brain. The procedure got pushed back to Oct 31 because they had to coordinate 3 locations and get some specialized materials. They couldn't get all three together before then. It's three steps on three consecutive days. The first day confirms the point of the leak. If they can't spot it, the other two steps get called off and we look at other options.

And maybe this spontaneously heals before then, LOL.

Thanks Vennitta. I just hope this manages to get better on it's own anyway. Now I've got a week's reprieve.

Big hugs !First, well aren't you selfish!!! Gee - hahahahaha.Second, I'm feeling lucky to not be hawt after my icy slip and fall/head bang-bounce a few years back

In all seriousness, I really hope you have the " miraculous " result, all procedures are at least nerve racking. You know you have our well wishes and healing vibes and prayers and all good things.

What is the recovery time? It's amazing how the body responds to stuff, you'll have to have a talk with your brain and tell it no exploring outside of the skull, bad brain and its cohort CSF and co-conspirator dura.

Hey Ms. Fancy Brain,You never know about spontaneous healing...stranger things have happened. Did you notice that the procedure has been moved to Halloween? I'm not sure where I'm going with that, I guess the whole magic, spontaneous healing

Hey Ms. Fancy Brain,You never know about spontaneous healing...stranger things have happened. Did you notice that the procedure has been moved to Halloween? I'm not sure where I'm going with that, I guess the whole magic, spontaneous healing

Going back to lurkingVennitta

And maybe this spontaneously heals before then, LOL.

, you are FAMOUS at the neuro brain ward!  We here at EV can say we knew you way back when, when you had just an ordinary brain!  When will the procedure by Doctor Gorgeous take place?  I'm keeping you my thoughts.  You have had just the best attitude possible throughout.  We are cheering you on!!!

Hugs,

....Or so I hope. I just met with the beautiful doctor who will be doing the procedure. I loved him! He was funny, gorgeous, and inspired confidence. (Back off Vennitta, this one is mine too.) My rest week didn't work, so I called my neurologist, and he set the ball rolling.

He told me my MRI was " impressive " and joked that I looked great for somebody with such a bad MRI. Well, gee thanks, doc! :)(Flattery will get you everywhere.)
