Guest guest
Thanks for the review, ! Please review the others too, I might need this! In vidiot greed, This morning I did workout 1 from the Reinhardt Kettlebell systems (RKS) program including the warm up and cool down. This is the description of workout WORKOUT 1: This workout was 20 minutes in length minus the warm up and cool down...And all it consisted of was SWINGS..that's it...just 2 handed swings. 30 seconds of two handed swings with 45 seconds of rest for 16 circuits. I only used an 18 lb bell as it has been quite a while since I did a kettle bell workout. Next time I will go higher. I really am glad I got this system, it looks like it is going to be awesome. In the cooldown of the RKS, he did the pigeon pose that I had been doing wrong apparently because instead of putting the foot in the groin he put it perpendicular to the body and then went forward, I did this and it was much more comfortable and I was able to feel the stretch better in the glutes, plus the fact that I was barefoot without a big workout shoe to lay on helped as well. After this I did the Kathy Menopause yoga workout that I never got to the other day so I could finish up that DVD and mark it as completed. This one I am not crazy about as I never am with yoga but I am trying. She did something called cobblers pose, it wasn't comfortable and it hurt my back as did several of the other poses. I am just so not flexible. I will keep trying though, they say flexibility comes in time, we shall see about that. I think one of the things that causes me problems is that my belly is still so big. After that I went walking to take the grandkids to Mcs for breakfast where they whined a lot because I only let them order healthy stuff and not crap. After that we walked to the 3 pharmacies in town, walgreens, rite aid and Kmart looking for corn huskers lotion which none of them had. I will have to wait until I go out of town to look for it I guess. Sometimes I really like living in a rural area and sometimes it really sucks. There was a groupon offer for a Fresno business for 5 kettlebell classes for 30 bucks. It is about an hour and a half drive to get there, but I have a couple of vacations coming up in the next few months and I would like to at least go to the classes a few times to get some form pointers even though I only plan on mainly doing DVD kettlebell workouts. At least I will know if I am doing it right or not. The classes all have to be used before December, but they do have some Saturday classes as well so I am sure I could get them used up. I will just go on my big Fresno shopping days before I shop. Sorry for rambling so long. Have a great day all.

Guest guest
Hi ,That's a great DVD. I really like it too. I've had to back down from KB this year, but my hand and shoulder are more stable now. I think I can work them back in later this year.I also think the rest breaks are fine. It totally works for me. Hoorah for your rapidly growing KB family!!! Today for the first time I did a kb workout. I totally loved it. It was the ultimate body sculpt and conditioning with kettlebells. I am guessing it was the first one as it doesn't have a volume number on it. It has a green cover. This was my first time doing a longer kb workout, in the past I have only done the shorties like RKS, and MB45 essentials. I am trying to change up my routine and do aprox. 2 days per week of kb, 2 days per week at least of yoga and 2 days per week of my free choice, such as cardio, strength, etc. I may do a day also of a short cardio with a short yoga, pretty much I am on the do whatever I want workout routine, but I want to keep some kettlebells and some yoga in there all the time, while using all of my virgin workouts, which I haven't even made a dent in yet (yes, that is embarrasing), anyhoo, back to today's workout. I have heard people complain on the vf forums that the one minute rest breaks in 's workouts were too long, I didn't think so, I thought they were just right. I used my new 18 lb. RKS competition kb for this, I usually go heavier, but I bought this bell because I wanted to try the competition ones and it was so pink and pretty. I love this type of kb, but I probably won't get anymore for a very long time if ever, due to the fact that I already have a bunch of kb's, with more on the way. If I ever win the lottery though, I am buying me some more of the competition type bells. I don't know how to explain it, but they seem to fly higher and float more, I think the weight distribution in these makes them seem lighter than regular kb's. So now, I need to find a money tree to buy more of 's kb DVD's as I want all of them and some more kb's. Have a great day all.

Guest guest
Hi , Good job! I was curious about this one, as I like Gin - though I need to use some of hers that I already have, I think, heh. :-o Have a nice night, Sara > > > Good morning all, I'm glad to hear that so far everyone is okay thru the hurricane. I hope those that have lost power get it back soon. This morning I did Gin Barbell Blast. This is a short workout, but I liked it. It is made for beginners I think, but if you use the right weight it can be challenging. I also did the bonus ab workout on it. Then I did Rodney Yee AM Yoga for your week, the backbends section. I'm not sure what I will do today, I want to make some chili beans to take to work tomorrow and watch a movie, anythine else I get done will just be extra. LOL. Have a great day all. > > >
Guest guest
found it Cathe’s Help Overcoming Hormones! Published on 24 September 2011 by CatheDotCom in Blog, Featured Success Stories, Success Stories 0 I have been featured before, but wanted to give an update, since so many Cathletes wrote to me and asked about my situation. About two years ago, my aesthetician of all people, told me that based upon my symptoms, she was positive I was Estrogen Dominant. My symptoms were many. I had been a heavy lifter for over 6 years at that time (thanks to Cathe!) and had no muscles to show for it. I ate right (seriously!) and exercised a lot…but no results. I was skinny, sure, but…I still had flabby triceps and fat over my abs.. I also got migraines regularly, battled with crazy mood swings, sleep was haphazard, sex drive was nil…and on and on. When I finally saw the list of symptoms for estrogen dominance, I could practically tick off every box. Well, okay, I thought…but now what? I had no idea what to do about it, so I just kept on. Since the first Cathe video that I purchased, Muscle Max, I’ve been a devotee! And since that was my favorite time of day, I decided to pursue that as a way of life. I became a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, Pilates instructor, cycling coach, yoga instructor and nutrition specialist. It was when i was going through my nutrition training that ‘estrogen dominance’ came up again. It said, as a note to personal trainers, that if you had a female who was doing all the right things–lifting, doing cardio, eating right, but her triceps/fat calibrations were not going anywhere, she most likely had estrogen dominance. Ah ha! My aesthetician had been right…but again, what to do? I started buying books on the subject (thanks to a wonderful Cathlete that suggested the first one to me) and really started to do my research into bio-identical hormones…heck, I think I can write a book on it now! We had hoped to wait til we had insurance, but most of the doctors and patients in the books said insurance didn’t always cover it anyway, so finally, I had had enough! I was a personal trainer who lacked the very muscles I was coaching my clients towards…something had to be done. I met with a specialist in bio-identical hormones and she said “Yep, you are estrogen dominant.” They sent me for labs, and when the results came back, my estrogen was off the charts, my testosterone nowhere to be found…and my thyroid was low. No one at the office could figure out where I got my energy on a daily basis, but I guess it was from my workouts! I don’t know, but I do know this: They immediately put me on hormones. I went through a compounding lab so everything I now take/put on my body (creams) was designed specifically for me. I feel just ‘better’…just ‘good’ now on a daily basis. And guess what? My workouts? They are working now. Now, when I complete Slow and Heavy I FEEL it the next day, whereas before…’eh’ not so much…I do have more energy…even though I thought I’d had plenty before! I sleep better, I’m nicer to be around…and I sweat less Yay! So, am I on the road to recovery? I certainly hope so! And I hope, by this time next year, I’ll have plenty of pictures where I’m showing off my toned muscles!! So, thank you to the Cathletes who wrote me and suggested these things to me, and thank you Cathe, for being who you are and leading me down this path!!Vennitta Thanks I would appreciate that. I'll look for the article and forrward it.Vennitta Hi all, I just finished up doing Jillian's Ripped in 30 #4 and 30 day shred #1. I am getting a little frustrated because I have been working out regular and eating spot on every day and I still have not been able to get the rest of this vacation weight off yet. I will see Tuesday on my weigh in day what is happening but so far I am still stuck for the last couple of weeks. I am off to do some chores now. Have a great day all. Guest guest
Good morning all, is it Sunday already? Where did Saturday go? This morning I did 10 lb. slimdown extreme the extreme upper body workout and the recovery lower body workout. I really loved the upper body workout, well, all except those tricep pushups at the end. I have never done those that way before, I got down to the floor and then couldn't push myself back up, I will keep trying though. I wasn't crazy about the recovery lower body, mostly all just lunges and squats. It was 60 minutes worth of working out altogether. I am really enjoying this set of workouts. Since I took my rest day on a different day, I am going to have to rearrange this rotation as it calls for this same set of workouts next but I was supposed to have had a rest day in between. I will figure out what I want to do tomorrow. I just threw some vegan chili on to cook in the slow cooker, now I am going to go watch some TV. The two grandsons (2 yo and 1 yo) are here right now visiting, they spent the night. All 4 girls spent the night before last. Have a great day all.
