Some of you may remember me but others won't, so I'll introduce myself since I just rejoined the CAST list...

I'm , mommy to Todd (4yo in March 2010)--here's the short version:

First EDF cast at 17 months, left thoracic curve 50 degrees, Sept 2007.

Had 7 casts over a year (very fast grower).

Last three casts gave no lasting improvement although the in-cast x-rays were SO straight no curves could be measured.  Out of the casts, he had a right upper thoracic curve of 29 and left lower thoracic curve of 22.

He went into a Providence brace at night in Nov 2008.

Over the past year, his curves have slowly progressed to 38 and 24.

We have an appointment for a Rigo-Cheneau brace next month, which I will give lots more info on later!

Does anyone else here have a child in a Rigo-Cheneau brace?  I have not met anyone yet with this one, and it would be nice to compare notes.  We are hopeful that it will be the answer for our Todd!

I was on this list throughout Todd's casting, and found so much support here at a time when I really needed it.  When I got overwhelmed by life, I had to take a break from the list, but I'm glad to be back now.  I'm looking forward to meeting y'all, and to sharing our journey.

Just wanted to say hello for now, and when I have some more time, I'll post more info on the details of our latest experiences with Schroth PT and the Rigo-Cheneau brace.

Have a good night!

, mommy to Todd
