Hi, Roxanne:

Just be aware that Floradix contains yeast, wheat germ, peanuts,

fennel, spinach, kelp, and ocean kelp among several other

ingredients, in case you have allergies. I buy liquid iron from the

pharmacist (they keep it behind the counter) for a fraction of the

cost of Floradix, and mix a tsp. in a glass of orange juice and take

with my Vitamin C, to aid in absorption.

(^..^)~~~

Floradix Iron + Herbs Liquid & if so how long did it take for you to

I know nothing about which iron supplements, but that MCV tells me that, yes, you need either the B12 or the Folic Acid. Get the B12 in a liquid form to hold under the tongue for a few minutes, just in case you may have a gut absorption problem for that. In case it is a Folic Acid problem instead, (as mine turned out to be), take a minimum of 800 mcgs with the B12 or at any time (I remembered both of them, when I take them together), but do get tested for both of these very soon. The serum test for either one is questionable, but the Red Blood Cell Folate is better for the folic acid and/or the homocysteine seems to indicate the folate or the B12. Also, the test for methylmalonic acid has to do with the B12. I got a serum B12, and that's all I ever had for that one, but got the red blood cell folate and serum folic acid, both. I didn't get into the other tests because of lack of funds, but if you can, do that too. The liquid B12 I take just comes from the local Walmart and is called Spring Valley B Complex Sublingual. It has some of the other Bs in it, including B5, which is vital to us, as thyroid people. It does not have the folic acid in it, so I just purchased another brand of tablets for it. The Bs really need to be taken together, particularly these two, because they both have a lot to do with each other. Your MCV shows very slight enlargement of some red blood cells. Mine was well over this count, when it was there. It was when I got in severe chronic thyroid deficiency, and was in the process of trying to bring the Armour up, plus that huge # of antibodies pounding away on my thyroid and probably everywhere else too.

, would you recommend just the Nutrition Panel ( Includes: Master Chemistry, Vitamin B12 w/folic acid, TIBC)only or do you think you would also do another Super Chemistry (Includes Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL and Ratios, Triglycerides, Glucose (Diabetes), Kidney, Liver, & Heart functions, Potassium, Calcium, Uric Acid, Electrolytes, Iron, PLUS a CBC (Complete Blood Count)? Thanks for everything

Yes, with HealthCheck, but I couldn't find them in their online listings, so I called them instead. Maybe I just didn't look good enough. Ask for both the serum folic acid AND the red blood cell folate. Then the serum B12. The other tests I didn't inquire about, but researched this out. Homocysteine would definitely be a good one.

While you're getting tested, you might as well do all these, if you don't know what your status is on these, but you need to call them up to get the Red Blood Cell Folate. They'll just add to the tests you already have. When I called, they were offering a pkg deal for the B12, Folic Acid, and Red Blood Cell Folate all together. If you need to know these other things, though, do the whole thing, by all means.

Thanks & Jan!

Jan I went into the group site and looked into the previous messages & I really didn't want to look at all 6000 and some, so I'm going to ask you (if you don't mind) a little history with your hypo / ! I remember reading you had cancer! Is this the only body site that you had cancer and have you had an re-ocurrences? How did you find out you were hypo/hashi's, did you find a goiter or nodules when you discovered you were hypo?

Sorry for the questions but I am just curious as to how you became so educated in this!

If I'm being too intrusive please excuse me and except my apologys!

thank you again

Yes, I just called them on ordering the B12 alone. Really, there's no difference in ordering by phone or internet, except that they will help you along with the type of test you may be looking for, when you talk to them by phone, i.e., human communication.

Re: Iron?

Healthcheck does not list all of their tests on their site, but I understand they offer most tests that you can get at any major lab.
