Guest guest
>>Normal resting heart rates ranges anywhere from 40 beats per minute up to 100 beats per minute. Ideally you want to be between 60-90 beats per minute, with the average resting heart rate for a man being 70 beats per minute, and for a woman 75 beats per minute.<< This taken from this website: http://www.topendsports.com/testing/heart-rate.htm I used to always be around 60 BPM, the doctors just said AH lovely, you have an athlete's pulse.. when in reality my heart was simply too slow due to too low metabolism. Unless you are normal weight and very healthy & fit I would say your heart rate is too low. BTW, Armour has corrected mine to a much more normal 80 BPM now! *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WVFat cat? Guest guest
My heart rate is lower now, then a few months ago. I was averaging around 65. Thanks for the information. Guest guest
Lynn A heart rate below 60 is unacceptable, and, in your case, is probably caused by a low metabolic rate, i.e., hypothyroid. I have no websites to refer to, but I work a nursing floor and have known for yrs that the average heart rate should be around 72 BPM. 70 is ok, and up to 80 may be ok for some people, but beyond that and below that, the heart is going to have to work too hard, in either case. Digitalis patients are told to stop the drug, if the HR goes below 60, and a too high HR shows that the heart is working too hard for output. During aerobics, the HR goes way up in order to aerate the circulatory system, which of course, is what aerobics are all about, but it should come back down to normal within a few minutes of stopping the aerobics to a normal solid HR. heart rate > > Does anyone know of a site that shows ideal heart rates? > I've looked everywhere but only see what your heart rate > should be if you are exercising. > > I was just wondering because my heart rate is averaging > around 55-58. Guest guest
Lynn, I sure wish we could share. I'd loan you some of mine, which is usually around 88; sometimes up around 100. Are you in a bad hypo state right now? > Does anyone know of a site that shows ideal heart rates? > I've looked everywhere but only see what your heart rate > should be if you are exercising. > > I was just wondering because my heart rate is averaging > around 55-58. Guest guest
I'm thinking I am. I' don't have the signs that I had before I was diagnosed, but I do have a lot of the symptoms. I have finally made an appointment to see another Endo. It was a VERY hard search, and I am not sure if she will be good or not. I do know she prescribes Armour. And the most important, she takes my insurance. The bad thing, my appointment isn't until Jan 20th. I decided to kind of medicate myself. I have some leftover Levoxyl 75 that I have slit into 4 (if you can believe that). I now take 2 grains plus a 1/4 of the Levoxyl. My heart was fluttering a little, so I checked it and that is when I noticed it was beating at around 55/58. (heart rate increases to 62, 3 hours after 1 grain of Armour). So to make a short story long....yes, I think I am major hypo, although my labs don't show that bad. I am really thinking Adrenal problems. Guest guest
Lynn, I am sorry you have to wait so long to see a doctor, but good luck with the new endo. I have trouble keeping track of everyone. Who are you going to see? I hope they do prescribe Armour. It has made a significant improvement in the way I feel, over the synthetics. If you've been hypo for a prolonged period of time, adrenal fatigue sounds probable. Do you have Hashimotos? Do you think if you called the doctor's office and explained your situation, that they might be able to fit you in sooner? > > > Does anyone know of a site that shows ideal heart rates? > > > I've looked everywhere but only see what your heart rate > > > should be if you are exercising. > > > > > > I was just wondering because my heart rate is averaging > > > around 55-58. Guest guest
I am seeing Dr. Petak. I take 2 grains of Armour. (which he doesn't approve) I have Hashi's, plus A LOT of other issues. Can say that I am not going thur nearly what Janie is. I really hate to complain when I hear of other's and what they are going thur. I'm really thinking about not going to that new Endo. Sounds like she wouldn't suppress me any further, either. I am already at TSH .02. I am afraid there wont be too many Dr's that will do much of anything. Thanks for asking. And I am with you Roxanne.....I THANK everyone in this group. Without you guys, not sure where I'd be!
