Lynn,

Bex will now- at 2 years 4 months, eat bananas, apples, STILL baby food fruit, which we mix with blueberry or blackberry organic applesauce from Whole Foods, small mini pizzas, and he just started on kid's chicken nuggets from the health food store- with no antibiotics and whole grain breading. I think the brand is Health is Wealth.

He also eats cheddar cheese sticks, Clif Z Bars, baby oatmeal mixed with that applesauce, and ice cream- I buy Von's brand Eating Right individual cups, that have probiotics and fish oil added for those Omega oils! It just tastes like vanilla.

He won't eat pasta- weird, right? Organic corn chips are good, and still whole organic milk and yogurt, especially vanilla bean flavor. He likes creamy and crunchy. Amy's cheddar bunnies are good.. Almost everything we give him is organic. He's a grazer, he eats all day. Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2 years old, in 4th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 21)

Hey All- If you haven't tried Clif Kids Z Bars, they are awesome- organic, whole grain, with vitamins. They're portable and easy for kids to eat in casts, not a lot of crumbs. They sell them at Target, the chocolate chip is really good! Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2 years old, in 4th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 21)

Hi Heidi

Thanks, you gave me some great ideas. How do organic foods taste.. I love the idea of feeding Peyton clean organic foods but not really to sure where to buy them or what to buy. We are in Canada and I know the Walmarts here sell organic baby foods but I don't think Ive ever seen anything else. I will look in the grocery store too. I'm so worried that because he wont eat any meat that he is not getting enough iron or protein so anything that will provide this would be great. Thanks

Lynn

I don't think Walmart has an organic section like some of the grocery stores do. We have Kroger here and it has a whole section of Organic foods, so I may look there. Check your grocery store Lynn or maybe Target. Joanmom to Hayden 2 1/233 degrees1st cast down from 62 degrees Treated at ish Rite Hospital Dallas, TX

Hi

Peyton is only a month older than your son (15 months) and he too still kind of prefers puree foods. He does drink from a sippy cup but only apple juice. We have tried to put milk and other kinds of natural juices in it and he just throws it and looks at me like I'm crazy for trying to feed him anything other than boring old apple juice. I think they just need a little more time.

Lynn :)

Hi

I cant remember if you said your son has low muscle tone or not. I know my son has very low muscle tone and my OT said that might be why he is so fussy when it comes to food.

Lynn,

For iron, we did a lot of jarred baby oatmeal- organic with pears and apples in the jar. As long as they get it a few times a week, I think it's okay. We mix it with the blueberry applesauce, he still eats that. A lot more stores are doing organic, but you may have to find a health food store for some things. All of the baby cereals are fortified with iron- you can mix it with yogurt and fruit, etc.

Thanks

Lynn

Hey All- If you haven't tried Clif Kids Z Bars, they are awesome- organic, whole grain, with vitamins. They're portable and easy for kids to eat in casts, not a lot of crumbs. They sell them at Target, the chocolate chip is really good! Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2 years old, in 4th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 21)

Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2 years old, in 4th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 21)

In the aisle that has protein bars and health shakes- like EAS low- carb vanilla shakes, which are great, too- for Mom. Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2 years old, in 4th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 21)

He likes creamy and crunchy.. Amy's cheddar bunnies are good. Almost everything we give him is organic. He's a grazer, he eats all day. Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2 years old, in 4th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 21)
