Guest guest
My daughter is 20 months old and scheduled to have her 1st cast removed and 2nd put on early next week. We go to Shriner's in Philly, but live in MInnesota. We asked if we could have the cast taken off locally and only travel for her new cast next week since :1) the weather has made it hard to get there and 2) I am 37 weeks pregnant and my husband does not want to travel for longer than necessary out of town in fear of missing the birth of the baby.We have called some clinics locally and they have made it clear that they do not want to deal with us... I have a call into our local Shriner's (who do not cast, but should be able to remove a cast??) as well as the local Children's hospital and have just been forwarded to manager's numbers to leave messages. Does anyone have suggestions as to who or where would be easiest to approach about this? Is it too complicated and difficult a procedure or simple? If not, why would Shriner's in Philly give us permission to have it removed locally? Thanks for any advice.Stefanie
