Guest guest
Hi, Courtenay: I did air out the room the entire next day with all the windows open and the fan on full-blast. Since our weather is still " balmy " I try to get some fresh air in there every night. You can still smell it but it's not making me short of breath anymore. I like your onion idea. I may try that yet -- should have thought of that last night when I was making soup. Oh well ... the mold in my daughter's house is growing between the window panes and up the metal sides. She'd have to get the owner to replace the windows I think. I'm glad you're feeling better. :-) > Goodness gracious. I wonder what would happen if you aired out the > room where the new furniture has been placed. Another tip that might > work: when my husband paints, he cuts up a bunch of raw onions and > places them around the painted room to absorb the chemicals and kill

Guest guest
Dear -- I passed the first gauntlet, DHEA, and now I'm on to the second one, Foltx. The funny thing is, the first day I took it, I definitely had more energy. Yesterday, however, you could have scooped me off the couch with a spoon. I woke up at noon, had to take a nap at 2 p.m., and then went to bed at 10 p.m., which is unheard of for me. The onions should draw out some of the chemicals. Just get the cheapie kind, cut them into four quarters and leave them all over the place near the furniture for 24 hours. Do you think you might call the furniture company and find out if they put a polyurethane coating on it, or wax, or a non-retardant chemical? There's mold and there is mold. Green mold is okay, according to my husband, as long as it is on the outside. Black mold occurs usually on the floor and walls-- you can pour bleach on the mold itself, and do not touch it, as it will disturb the spores (which can become airborne and, if inhaled, will cause problems.) My husband says that black mold cannot grow in direct sunlight. As for the green mold, it should die if straight bleach is poured on it. Many newer houses are built with a pressboard material that contains formaldehyde/urea, which has a long half-life and can also cause breathing problems. (Also known as MDF, medium density fiberboard.) Many kitchen cabinets are made of the same materials. That may account for some of your breathing problems as well. Best wishes-- Courtenay. Guest guest
Dear Courtenay: Wow, thank you for all the info. I'm probably doomed since our house is relatively new -- built in 2001. Thanks for the mold info too. I'll have to check it out more closely the next time I go over there. I'm taking Foltx too. And DHEA. How much DHEA are you able to tolerate? Better go to bed, it's getting late. I think it's common to have days when you need lots more sleep along with the better days, at least for awhile. Take care, okay? > Dear -- > > I passed the first gauntlet, DHEA, and now I'm on to the second one, > Foltx. The funny thing is, the first day I took it, I definitely had > more energy. Guest guest
Hey ! Did you have any fatigue with the Foltx? It's really kicking my a**; yesterday seemed a little less exhausting than the day before... but I still had to take a three hour nap, which is not good. I'm only able to tolerate 2.5 of the DHEA; I'm supposed to be taking twice that dose. I've been spreading out my meds and taking a new one each week. Since I'm so reactive to everything, I space out the meds where possible to allow my body to adjust to each new thing. It also makes it easier to differentiate when I'm having a reaction to one of the meds. How much DHEA are you taking at the moment? It's nice to live in a new house because you obviously don't have some of the dust issues, or older chemical issues (like we have asbestos siding, which is okay-- unless you try to remove it!). In order to combat the dust, I would have to sweep every other day, and I cannot manage more than once a week right now because sweeping just wipes me right out. The dust is phenomenal, and when you combine that with the dog hair-- I could just scream. I hope everything is going as best as it possible can for you. Best wishes-- Courtenay. Guest guest
Hey there, Courtenay: Things are manic at work so I don't have much time. You can see that most of my posts have been at night. Anyway, no I don't have fatigue with the Foltx. The pharmacist told me if anything, I'd feel more energy from it (but not so far as I know) -- but you know, there are so many variables it's hard to tell what's causing what! B12 & B6 and Folic Acid and whatever else is in there shouldn't cause fatigue. I'm supposed to be taking 2mg DHEA twice a day but every time I take more than 2 mg I get crabby, aggressive, and angry. Maybe after I'm on the progesterone cream for a couple more months I'll be able to take more DHEA. The progesterone seems to have a calming effect. I think the DHEA either increases my testosterone or my estrogen too much. Not sure. For some strange, strange reason we get a lot more dust in the bedroom than anywhere else in the house! LOL! Maybe cause of the backyard? Or vacant land/woods behind that? Who knows! Take care! He > Hey ! > > Did you have any fatigue with the Foltx? Guest guest
Hey ! I just woke from my Foltx-induced three-hour nap. The pharmacy sheet that came with it said in it's side effects that it may cause drowsiness. I never read side affect sheets until I've had some sort of funky side effect, as I don't want to have some sort of side effect due to programming myself psychologically for that effect. Anyway, I called the doctor's office today, and called me back with a definitive answer at 5:45, but alas, I was asleep. I will call him in the morning, meaning 11 a.m., when I wake up. Some of our scary dust is caused by the construction of a senior living center behind us. We also get the benefit of the sweet sounds of large machinery rolling around at 6 a.m. I will be really glad when THAT's over. It's been almost a year now of this nonsense. As for the dust in your bedroom, you are right, that is mighty peculiar. Best wishes-- Courtenay. Hey there, Courtenay: Things are manic at work so I don't have much time. Guest guest
Hi, Courtenay! How are you? What did say about the Foltx? I don't think the pharmacy ever gave me a side affect sheet with that one. I may have to look it up on the Mayo site. > Hey ! > > I just woke from my Foltx-induced three-hour nap. Guest guest
Dear -- spoke with , and they said to go off of it temporarily. The sheet I got with my prescription said that it may cause drowsiness; shouldn't operate heavy machinery until you know how the meds affect you. said that they don't know why the Foltx was giving me such a hard time. I don't either. Not only was it inducing a 4 hour nap every time I took it, I was left feeling really " druggy " for the rest of the day. I am not looking forward to making another stab at the Foltx. I may ask for alternatives-- I don't care if I have to take seven or eight or ten or fifteen vitamin pills instead. I just don't want to feel drugged to the point where I cannot function. said to move on and start taking the Armour. The only thing that worries me is that I thought the Foltx was supposed to pave the way for my body to take the Armour. We'll see what happens. Thanks for asking, . You're so nice. Courtenay. Guest guest
Yeah, I suspected that was it. My body tends to completely shut down if a dosage amount of anything is too much. I was also curious about the binders, but I cannot find an " ingredients " list anywhere, or a phone number for Pam Laboratories. I am going to start the Armour, take my regular B vitamin instead, and then ask in a week about the Foltx thing. What really bummed me out is that I've become a tiny bit more functional in the last month, and I hate feeling like I am going backwards in terms of functionality or health. Courtenay. You may need smaller doses of those vitamins. You may also need to balance your other B vitamins and iron. He gave me an Rx for Foltx, too, but I never filled it. I prefer to stick with my Twinlabs capsules. I think, too, that sometimes vitamins are like thyroid meds in that we may need to slowly build up to our correct dose.
