Guest guest
I bought this originally to do with DH and kids. A year or so later, no one has wanted to do it with me so I finally did it on my own today, expecting nothing from it. Wow, was I surprised! It is a 2 mile walk that features the walk leaders and their grandkids, plus that whatever her name is that is doing family walk things for (I haven't kept up on doings lately so I don't know what her role is these days) and her husband and 5 kids. At the end, she introduces everyone and you find out the cast includes 's daughter (who looks all grown up compared to earlier videos) and her niece (from other videos) 's mom even! The kids range from younger than 2 but walking to her daughter and niece (daughter might be late teens even early 20s, niece was in college in an earlier videos) and her daughter and niece are mostly taking care of the kids who do the warmup but then the screen fades slightly then comes back up with the kids playing in the background and just the adults walking. The kids are playing with the stability balls, steps and risers and ocassionally running through the set too (in a very cute, not annoying way). I expected it to be a walk kids could do and would be doing so I expected very low intensity. It turned out to actually be a very fast paced 2 mile walk! I was very impressed with how hard I had to work! The music was mostly stuff from other videos ("I Feel Good" and "Let's Get This Party Started" among them) so that wasn't so good but there was an interesting meter that popped every so often to tell you not only how far you'd walked but also for how much time. Not a bad workout, the kids were cute and not distracting but if you're looking for a workout to do as a family, I'm not sure this is the one unless your kids are older elementary because it is pretty fast paced. She does have at least one kids' walking video too I think but I haven't seen it (I think that person does it actually). Gotta run!
