Guest guest
I don't have any medical data that proves my theory, but having been through the treatment twice. First time got the virus level down to 1500. But had nagging little things that happened during the treatment that stressed me out. This last treatment as you guys know I was undetectable at 12 weeks. Yah!! But this time, I said to myself and others in my family. I refused to be stressed out. I will be a happy camper. I want to do what I enjoy. And I found that most of the time during treatment I had a ball. Yeah it is true. I would turn a negative into a positive. Okay for example. The getting sick and the lack of appetitite with the treatment. I figured that the treatment was the world most expensive diet. LOL When I felt like crappy doo doo, I would get up and fine something that would make me feel better. Sometimes just a walk down the block would do it for me. Or going out and throwing the frisbee with the dogs. Let me tell you, you can't get depressed or sad when you are throwing a frisbee to a dog. It is impossible. They are just too darn funny. I watched cartoons, three stooges(they are sure to split your sides.) Listen to music. And this group, oh this wonderful group. They lifted my spirits so much. Yeah, personally I think this group is the best one on Yahoo or any other domain. Course I am just a little bit proud of us. Hee Hee And my monday nite sundaes!! Yep you got it. Ever Monday, I had a ice cream sundae with all the stuff I liked. LOL it is true!! So yeah I think love, happiness and all above can help with keeping the virus at bay. know that you are much loved by all of us. *smack* Love Janetus2china2 wrote: ... I think thinking some thought is one level, speaking is a higher level, and perhaps speaking while meditating is the next step up, as in chanting a mantra. thanks for your input. Guest guest
Yuppers I did speak it out loud. Told my whole family and many of my friends. I told them how important it was for me to have my healing. I told them that stress could impede my recovery. And it makes a difference in how I react to treatment. And yes, I did repeat a manta when I did my yoga workouts. (Yuppers found yoga was good for my aching muscles, the deep breathing helped) When I would meditate, I would put on soothing music to help keep the outside noises out. (When you have a active household like I have you have to have that background noise. LOL) I have several CD's that I find useful. Enya,Celtic music (because that is my all time favorite, sometimes even !!(my man of my dreams.) Then as I meditated I would repeat that I was going to get well, imagined my body fighting the diease. (little warriors dressed in battle clothes fighting those little dragons) Okay I sound like a looney tune!! But hey it worked for me. Guest guest
I think it was a fluke!! As I have never read that book. LOL But over the years, I have learned to be very in tune with my body. Oh by the way, I read a magazine "Motorcyclist" and there is a story about a American traveling across China on his bike. It is a cool story. Will have to send you some pages from it. I think you will enjoy it. Love JanetHunter wrote: Janet, you must have read Peace Love and Healing, or by some fluke, you used the same techniques suggested in the book. Guest guest
I have some research on fatigue and I will keep looking for other stuff for you here it is Fatigue Adversely Affects Virologic Response to Peginterferon Plus Ribavirin Researchers at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, King’s College London and Weill Medical College of Cornell in New York City evaluated fatigue and other factors relevant to treatment outcome in 98 HCV patients undergoing therapy with pegylated IFN-alfa-2b (PEG IFN) [PegIntron] plus ribavirin. Results PEG IFN plus ribavirin resulted in severe and persistent fatigue as assessed by the Chalder Fatigue Questionnaire (CFQ). Sixty-five percent of patients exhibited a moderate to severe increase in fatigue (as defined by a ¡Ý5 point increase in the CFQ) during treatment. Patients who exhibited a ¡Ý3 g/dl decrease in hemoglobin (Hb) concentration were significantly more likely to experience a moderate or severe increase in fatigue and were significantly more likely to undergo ribavirin dosage reduction. At study conclusion, 59% of the patients were HCV RNA negative. Increasing fatigue was associated with reduced rates of being HCV RNA negative after 24 weeks of treatment. Mild, moderate and severe increases in CFQ scores were respectively associated with a 79%, 56% and 40% rate of being HCV RNA negative at 24 weeks. A moderate or severe increase in fatigue was associated with a greater likelihood of being HCV RNA positive after 24 weeks of treatment, even after controlling for other factors that predicted 24 week HCV RNA status, including viral genotype, PEG IFN and/or ribavirin dosage reduction, and race. Moreover, patients who were HCV RNA positive after 24 weeks of treatment had significantly greater increases in fatigue during therapy than patients who were HCV RNA negative. This represents a 40% greater delta CFQ score in HCV RNA positive patients than in patients who were HCV RNA negative at 24 weeks. HCV RNA positive patients also had a higher mean maximum CFQ score during treatment than patients who cleared virus. No relationship was observed between baseline (pre-treatment) fatigue and HCV RNA status at 24 weeks. In conclusion, the study authors write, “The development of fatigue is common during IFN-alfa therapy and is related in part to decreases in Hb concentration.” “In addition, fatigue appears to have an independent relationship with HCV RNA status at 24 weeks, suggesting a shared pathophysiologic pathway between the development of fatigue and treatment on response.” 11/21/05 I think my results improved because... .... But this time, I said to myself and others in my family. I refused to be stressed out. I will be a happy camper. I want to do what I enjoy. And I found that most of the time during treatment I had a ball. Yeah it is true. I would turn a negative into a positive. Okay for examp! le. Ever Monday, I had a ice cream sundae with all! the stuff I liked. LOL it is true!! So yeah I think love, happiness and all above can help with keeping the virus at bay. know that you are much loved by all of us. *smack* Love Janetus2china2 wrote: .... Guest guest
Thanks , I'll keep up what I can, and try to let you know when I do get married. I need to find a new fiancee first though. No problem! I was talking to a very cute young lady yesterday who said she'd marry me in a minute. I've known her for about a year, but as I told her yesterday, she's too young. (She's 20 and I'm 47) Not to worry, the right one will find me. Thanks again for the well wishes, Eat well, sleep well, be happy!
