antibiotic recommended for PANDAS/ Virus while on Valtrex?

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out what antibiotic therapy Dr. G recommends using long

term to treat PANDAS? I thought that NIH uses PCN but after reading one of DR.

G's posts he doesn't recommend using PCN or Biaxin. Is anyone aware of what he

does use?

I have another question, my son is just now getting over either a casackie

virus or more than likely mono.. His glands behind his ears and up the back of

his head were very swollen as were the glands in his neck. Our ped. felt that

because of his age (4 yrs. old) it probably is a casackie virus, but his

symptoms looked exactly like mono.. After a week and a half he is finally

feeling a little better. My question is why did my son get this virus while on

Valtrex? Has anyone else experienced this before? Thanks!
