If I ask her to test mine, can you all tell me what this shows, exactly? My GP is very open minded, and will actually want all my knowledge about this, if I ask for it. I'm thinking of asking for a bone density test, too, since I'm out of shape but about to start exercising (I'm 41 and it's been 15 years). Has anyone had one of these? I have one about every two years, but I may increase to one per year. Weight bearing exercise will help increase the bone density. Ferritin needs to be between 50 and 75 for most women. I usually request copies of all my lab tests. This having been the first bone density test I have ever done, I am not sure what the results include. Other than the films involved, is there a write up that I can request a copy of? If there is one, I would most certainly like to call and tell them to fax one to me. I know that the results are usually a number, correct? Kind of gives you bones an age? Would be nice to know how 'old' my bones are <g>.
