Guest guest
I have no problem with continuing treatment , its the stress it is causing in my marrage that I worry about . And if I have to pick between him and the meds , he is gonna win hands down . lol Re: Iron shot Injury--hiatus from TX Oh Gav,, it sounds like you are having such a hard time right now.. Man, I would be pretty upset with the nurse who did that to you,, didnt she check the back splash to make sure she wasnt near an artery or other blood vessel? I would think that by doing that, it might have given her the time to see that she was hurting you... Im so sorry, this is really a drag!!! my next question of course is why are you getting Iron shots? IS your Ferritin Level low or are they giving them to you based on your 9.9 hemoglobin?? MAKE them test your ferritin level if they have not,, lemme tell you why... Iron is very damaging to our livers and can make treatment totally ineffective... now just because your hemoglobin is low,, does NOT mean that your ferritin level is low,, my hemoglobin dropped to 7.0!!!! and my ferritin level was 717 !!!! and having Iron pumped into me at that time would have caused my tx to fail and probably would have killed me... I hear you say that you feel like you are dying,, so PLEASE make sure your ferritin level is what is low before you let ANYONE give you more iron... MY insurance company suggested iron for me when my doc was trying to get me procrit for the anemia... had we done that, I would have died... PLEASE make them check it ,, you NEVER want to take Iron unless the ferritin is low,, only then,, has nothing to do with the hemoglobin as you can see... IM worried about you now!!! hugs jaxZ King wrote: I've been put on hiatus on TX for 1-1/2 weeks. Myhemoglobin dropped to 9.9. So Saturday morning I wentto the drs. to get my iron shot. Guest guest
I'm so sorry your are having all these challenges . From your post I can feel you are very frustrated, and you should be. Many Drs treat patients very badly, and your description of your visit shows one Dr at his worst! Sharing here can help, but what you need is a doctor with a loving heart. Someone here may know a great GI near you. I hope we can post some suggestioins for you! In another post, you say something that I consider very noble. "If you have to choose between husband and meds, the choice is easy." I want to tell you that you don't have to choose. Your husband surely knows how special you are. How could he not? Just tell him you need his help. You need not try to be Super Girl. Tell your family and friends you want thier help. You can in a very short time have more help, support, and encouragement than you want or need. Find one good doctor. That doctor will know other good doctors. This is very imiportant for you. Make it a priority. (Reading this, I want to just erase it and start again... I don't usually give such strong advise, nor express my opinions so forcefully... but it seems you may need it.) Chin up! Great stuff coming your way! If you are down, please ask for help. This gives friends and family a chance to be helpful, and we all know how good it feels to help someone. Warm hugs, Eat well, sleep well, be happy!elizabethnv1 wrote: I saw the hepatologist yesterday and he wouldnt give me anything , he said I have to get it from my primary . Guest guest
My husband has been wonderful , he has gone through treatment with me before . This is the 4 time for me and each time he was great . But this time he is feeling neglected( I do nothing but watch tv ,lol) and says we need more alone time together or it could cause a problem in the future . The doc that I saw was someone filling in for that day , normally I see another doc who is fantastic . I have ran the gamut with 8 GI's here in las vegas and none could help me . I see a doc who flies into town once a month only from San Fransisco and normally I go to the clinic and am cared for by a wonderful nurse practioner who knows his stuff . I had to see the doc cause of all my problems lately but he sure didnt help me much ,lol . I am not stopping the treatment , but I am going to have to keep myself from getting any sicker . I have kids that need me to function also ...thank you for your kindness and concern . Not being alone in this fight has helped me so much , without my friends support I would have given up a long time ago .. ty ty ty for being here , all of you ! Guest guest
Now this post sounds more like the I've grown accustomed to. Glad to hear you have a good Doctor, and what sounds like GREAT support. Perhaps your husband should get some kind of medal! Stick with anyone through this 4 times. Perhaps Sainthood! You and he are very lucky to have found each other in this big, yet small world. And there is no need to thank me for being here. I have nothing else to do most days. I come here in hope of being useful. So thank YOU, for letting me feel useful. Hugs for everyone! Eat well, sleep well, be happy!elizabethnv1 wrote: My husband has been wonderful , he has gone through treatment with me before . This is the 4 time for me and each time he was great .
