Yoga in the afternoon

We all survived the onslaught of 6 teenage boys overnight! There was some chaos after midnight, the boys thought someone (a classmate they don't like at first, then later just "someone" was looking in the windows but our house is on a curve on a main road, partially hidden by trees with a large backyard and lots more trees making it hard enough to find in the daytime sometimes so I think they were just getting themselves worked up for fun. They seemed freaked out though and kept looking for me to tell them what to do (I told them to quit looking out the window, shut up and go to sleep, except not quite in those words). Two of the boys said they didn't see anything, they seemed to be the calmer of the 6 (and no, neither was mine) and I believe those two. Then this morning, one of the boys, who is a type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump had his pump disconnect somehow and he got sick. His parents came to get him as soon as they were able to, which was kind of late since they were at church and he couldn't reach them for quite a while, but he was going to be fine. Poor kid, he was miserable this morning though. Most of the kids have been friends since they were little. Seeing them all with hairy legs and deepening voices and talking about girls is weird but exciting too.

Anyway, the boys were all a lot of fun overall, polite and helpful. I had a little bit of cleaning up to do but not a lot! After that I did some other things needing to be done and thought I have tons of things I could do, that need to be done, but for the first time in FOREVER I took some time for myself on a weekend (or any other day) to just do some yoga and, I picked the practice I wanted to do, which in this case was 45 minutes long. Usually, if I get any yoga in at all, it is just 20 minutes or so to stretch quickly. I picked a general practice off the intermediate 45 minutes or less (or something like that) on Yoga Complete for Every Body. It felt soooo good. I've never done this one but I liked it a lot. I was melting into the shavasanah (literally, it was about your body melting piece by piece) and I hear my daughter "Moooommmm!" and then more shrill... so I brought myself out of my peacefulness and asked (as gently as possible though I didn't feel gentle at that point) what she could possibly need and why she didn't ask her other parent who was also home. She just wanted to know if she could sleep over at our neighbor's house (and that she couldn't find Dad, mostly because she didn't even look for him). I told her next time, if the door to my exercise room is closed and it isn't an emergency, just WAIT!! I really want to do add in more yoga somehow, preferably when the kids can find another parental unit when they need someone. I had forgotten how good it is for my spirit as well as my body. I was really able to get into most of the poses well and felt pleasantly stretched as well as amazingly peaceful, especially because I wasn't feeling like I had to watch the clock at all. Maybe I can try to make it a regular Sunday thing at least, maybe.
