The big kid & DH are at a Detroit Tigers baseball game (free tickets from our minister who couldn't use them!) and the girly girl who claims she isn't a girly girl is sleeping at a friend's house so mom actually has the house to herself for a few hours. I am wiped out from a long week and not a lot of sleep lately so I didn't want do anything really strenuous but I wanted to do "something" so I put in Yoga Complete for Every Body (my favorite yoga DVD these days) and did a new to me practice, "Self-Esteem Booster" on the Beginner 30 minutes + menu. It was exactly 30 minutes. I have no idea what it had to do with self-esteem except that you could feel good about keeping up with it? It was pretty good but definitely not my favorite practices so far. There were new sequences I haven't seen before, so that was neat but you go from laying down in one to standing up in another and then back on the floor again, etc. I accept that there is no flow between sequences but the transitions in this were so poorly planned that it didn't make any sense. There was also a sun salute sequence that had a lot of potential, she tells you in this one you're to voice your exhalations (however you want) but you don't hear her doing it and the voice over is far behind the very fast movements too. I was trying too hard to keep up to even think about my breath. It was the only time I've run into that on the disc so far, the voice over and actions completely out of sync (any time I have noticed it, it has been very minor). Oh well. It was still nice to workout without anyone around again and definitely nice not to have to try and do relaxation pose expecting to get interrupted.

No new house updates. Gotta start looking into who we're going to get to do the work and start getting it done. That had me a bit tense last night but I'm okay with it now. We'll end up fine this time I'm sure.

Hi ,

J.J. Gromley does all the practices on the DVD. She gives suggestions for using various kinds of equipment plus talks about and shows modifications. I love this DVD, just didn't love this particular practice. Too funny... I just checked my spreadsheet to make sure I spelled her name right and there was a note I'd made myself about this particular practice from August 2008... "Practice for Self-Esteem not so great." Whaddya know. Maybe next time I should check my spreadsheet before I do a workout?!
