I just figured they would all work pretty much > alike and am very surprised to hear the quality would affect your > knees. omg, nancy, you would not believe the difference!!! my cheapie feels like jumping on concrete compared to my new rebounder! yesterday, i visited the only canadian outlet for jumpsport rebounders. it just so happens that they are located a mere 75 min drive from my house i really wanted one of these because they use bungees instead of springs. this results in a softer bounce and absolutely no noise. they also get excellent reviews on the internet... mainly on the videofitness forum. the gps directed me to a residential area of the city but the house in question had the business's sign on the lawn so i went on up to the door. yep, she runs the business out of the rec-room of her home, which i was actually happy to see because maybe she could be more flexible on the price than an actual store would. very nice people, with a beautiful dog... the husband actually grew up in my hometown, which was coincidental. she has the top of the line jumpsport rebounder (370 model) set up beside a needak spring model. i dont think that this does anything to sell the needak because when one gets on the bungee rebounder, then it is game over for the spring tramp. i had to laugh when she warned me of the low ceiling in her rec-room and to be careful on the rebounder (because you are supposed to jump down into the mat, not jump up off of the mat). so i test the rebounder, and yes, i really like the bounce. i was worried that the mat might be too small, but it turns out to be perfect. i flip the 370 over to look at the bungees. i know that they are of a higher quality and are adjustable, while the cords on the lowest end model (220) are not. the 370 also has a different design to the part of the mat that covers the bungees. this 370 model is $380! the 220 is $200 and is the one i want to buy, while the 350 model is mid-line at $300 and is the one i would buy if i had the money. the only difference between these models is the bungees and the covering over the cords. she tells me that the special covering on the 370 is not required... it costs extra and i felt i might get my toe caught on it or something. she said the covering on the low end 220 (the same one on the mid-end 350) would be fine and i agreed. then i asked her if the 220's cords were different and if they were adjustable (i already knew the answers but i was getting around to asking for a discount... heh heh.) she replied that no, the cords on the 220 were thinner and were not adjustable... they also have a 2 year warranty while the better cords had 4 or 5 years). but WAIT!, she says. some of the 220's that she had were original design from one year ago, when the company had only two models of rebounders (not the 4 models that they have now). and that original design had the bigger, adjustable bungees on it. she would be happy to sell me an original 220 for $200 -- a deal for me because i was essentially getting the mid-line 350 model that i wanted with a one hundred dollar discount -- and a deal for her because she gets rid of her old stock. wow, ok, so im very happy... i was expecting to spend $250 on a low-end and i got out of there with a mid-line for $224... i spent some money on gas to pick it up but ::shrug:: still a good deal, i think. im off to do the housework and put the legs on the rebounder. then i want to do the dvd that came with it! also PHH thighs. chinook wants a walk. geeze i had better get moving, the day will fly by as usual. :*carolyn. Guest guest
> Congratulations!! I'm so jealous thanks vennitta! ive been so busy today that i havent had time to workout on it yet. ive also been taking some 'me' time outside in the beautiful weather we are having today. anyway, i wanted to tell you that i was all in a fluster as i was driving home from picking up the rebounder... because she hadnt given me the free workout dvd! i was wondering if i should go back, or just email her about it. so i stopped to get a coffee and opened the box to see if it was inside, but i couldnt see it. there was another box but it was just the legs. oh no, i was a bit upset. when i got home i opened the box again and flipped the mat over. there was a bag with the instruction manual. omg, where was the dvd?! i tear through the booklet and YAY! there was the dvd! ::happy happy dancing:: yes, i am a vidiot...LOL. i think that the workout will be good... i saw a clip on the internet... but im keeping my fingers crossed that it will be a useful addition to my rebounder video collection. :*carolyn.
