Guest guest
Good workout, Sara! Sounds like it worked for you. 's challenge looks really good! (Thanks for the link!) I've been thinking about what I want to do this month to get me back into things. Part of me says FIRM, part of me says keep going with knocking out the virgin workouts and now, this looks really good, just not sure I could commit to 3-5 miles every day plus the bonus stuff and of course, if I can't do the program as written, part of me says don't do it at all (dumb, I know, modification is key and I allow myself to do that as I move along in a program but hate starting out modifying already). We'll see. I restart by Wednesday, which is my first day without kids all day and without a lot of work time or other things keeping me tied up so I have until then to figure it out! Split Sessions - Coffey Meyer So this week I chose 's Split Sessions from her 30 Min to Fitness sereis. This one is faster paced with slightly higher reps, compared to her Weights workout. I liked it well enough, considering this isn't my favorite style of weight workout.I did the Lower Body workout on Tues and the Upper Body workout earlier today. There's also a short (15 min?) lower body floor work chapter that I plan to use as an add on tomorrow, too. started the leg work with a band around the ankles, like Cathe's firewalkers. I used 's ankle cuff band thingy, wondering if it would be too light. No worries, I was feeling the burn of the fast pace soon enough. I did get to do two of my favorite exercises - deadlifts in the lower body workout and good mornings in the upper body workout. does a lot of little twists on the exercies that remind me of CLX, but the speed was more like the FIRM. More exercise detail another time.I think I'm also going to add on 's September challenge to my other workouts:http://www.walkathome.com/challenge/the-amp-the-activity-challenge-details-inside/It's basically 3-5 miles a day, 5 days a week with optional mini challenges. I hope she updates daily on her blog like she has done in the past, but maybe it's a Facebook thing now. I don't do Facebook. Either way, I liked the idea, so I printed out the calendar and started today. I did a mile on the tmill to warm up for my workout with earlier, and will do at least two more miles and the mini challenges shortly.Sara

Guest guest
Thanks, ! This month I'm going to be kind of exploring random workouts as I plan a rotation for Oct/Nov (and maybe Dec, too). LOL, no surprise there, huh? I figure 's challenge will at least keep me moving since I'll be doing too many different types of weights workouts to make much progress on strength. I just finished up the challenge for today. I was going to do a , then I thought tmill, then , then tmill - and ended up doing the 2 remaining miles on the elliptical, hee. Indecisive much? For the mini challenge, I did it kinda like a little circuit. The goal was 50 jumping jacks and 50 push ups. I did 25 jacks, 10 incline push ups on my smith machine bar, 10 decline push ups with my legs on the stability ball, 25 more jacks, 10 incline push ups, 10 decline, 10 more incline to finish. With rests between each set as needed. :-D Looking forward to hearing what you decide! Hugs, Sara > > Good workout, Sara! Sounds like it worked for you. > > 's challenge looks really good! Guest guest
Hi Sara! No, no surprise at all that you're doing your long-range planning! How is the challenge going? That's a lot of pushups and jacks, especially for !! She seems to be getting tougher as she goes along! I'm still not sure what I'm doing and school starts tomorrow, which means I want to start working out again on Wednesday. However, I might be doing a lot of school supplies shopping Wednesday morning so we'll see how that plan works out (the big kid doesn't have a supplies list yet and I still need one or two things for the little one). I'll get back into it soon. I just need to want to do something and everything I want to do is intimidating me (too long or too intense) and anything not intense feels wimpy. I might have to go into my workout room, spin around with my eyes closed and grab whatever workout I find myself pointing too and do that! ;-) Split Sessions - Coffey Meyer> > > > So this week I chose 's Split Sessions from her 30 Min to Fitness sereis. Guest guest
Hi ! The Challenge is going well! She has mini challenges (MC) added to each day - that's where the push ups and jacks came in. Like today the MC is 50 triceps kickbacks and 50 chest flies. Some of the others doing the challenge are usings parts of videos for the MC - like Jari! You *know* she does at least 50 reps, and her stuff is chaptered by body part. I haven't used Jari for the MC yet, but probably will at some point. Hope you got all the school stuff ready to go and are settling into the new routine! Yeah, I know what ya mean about being undecided, as this month's plan was up in the air for me since I was too focused on my plan for next month, lol. 's challenge fit in just right. I don't get in 10k to 15k of steps a day like and Carolyn, but I'm getting in extra activity at least - and trying out some workouts that I don't know where to fit into the rotation. I still want to try a few more KCM workouts, but this week is shorter Amy Bento strength. Hugs, Sara who will be back later with a check in! > > > > Good workout, Sara! Guest guest
I love 's challenges!! I may tuck this one away for later. I really do need to try to get extra activity in during my day - I do fine w/ my morning workout but then I'm usually parked on my butt in front of a computer. I should at least make an effort to get 15 min of activity in during the morning and afternoon!! I did get to do two of my favorite exercises - deadlifts in the lower body workout and good mornings in the upper body workout. does a lot of little twists on the exercies that remind me of CLX, but the speed was more like the FIRM. Guest guest
yes!!! I am working with this woman developing the cost benefit of a cool program called instant recess. see http://www.toniyancey.com/IR_Book.htmlthere is growing evidence that every hour you should get up and stretch or move a bit for at least 10 min... but then I am the worst. .yesterday I worked on a paper for 4 hours straight!judyTo: exercisevideos Sent: Wednesday, September 7, 2011 10:41 AMSubject: Re: Split Sessions - Coffey Meyer I love 's challenges!! I may tuck this one away for later. I really do need to try to get extra activity in during my day - I do fine w/ my morning workout but then I'm usually parked on my butt in front of a computer. I should at least make an effort to get 15 min of activity in during the morning and afternoon!! Donna Subject: Re: Split Sessions - Coffey MeyerTo: exercisevideos Date: Wednesday, September 7, 2011, 10:02 AM Hi !The Challenge is going well! I haven't used Jari for the MC yet, but probably will at some point.Hope you got all the school stuff ready to go and are settling into the new routine! I still want to try a few more KCM workouts, but this week is shorter Amy Bento strength.Hugs, Sarawho will be back later with a check in!> >> > Good workout, Sara! We'll see. Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the chatter about the Challenge!! I'm still on track with it and want to chat more, but gotta hit the sack! I have an early morning coming (too soon!) and am heading up north tomorrow for my annual gals trip crafting thing. Wish me productivity - I'll need it, lol. I'm finally packed, at least. I packed some 's and my Walk It Out and Wii, so I should be able to keep up with the challenge. I'd like to walk outside, but it's in an area where there is a good chance of hunters and bears so that's not the best idea - but we'll see. I sure won't go out walking along, but don't know if I can get anyone else to go! Catch ya next week! Guest guest
Hi Sara! I need to look at the mini challenges at least and see if I can put some of those in. They are very good and a lot more challenging than what comes to my mind about ! That's a good idea to use Jari for the mini challenges too! We still have a few school supplies to get but the kids are already getting back into it and I guess I am too (I got a bit sidetracked this week by guys working on fixing up our bathroom and basement from the flood we had last month). You are too funny about having this month up in the air because you got too focused on NEXT month! :-) I finally figured out a plan I like for next WEEK but that took me so long I don't think I could come up with an entire month's rotation! You're awesome though for doing it, if I can at some point, I think it will help me stay on track better (as long as I'm looking forward to the workouts, that is). Guest guest
Hi Sara! I know you're gone but wanted to say I hoe the weekend is awesome! Are you making cards for your doggie fundraiser? You're so good bringing workotus with you! I tried doing that a few years ago when I went on a girls' scrapbooking weekend. I did yoga in my room one evening then got to where I could get a cell signal and there were a bunch of messages from DH saying he was sick and going to the hospital with his mom taking him, then my friends drove me right home and that was the end of my workouts (and weekend)! I did go on another weekend in January of this year but was so nervous about even going, I didn't want to take any workouts at all (almost being superstitious, which I'm not normally). It went fine, though I called home seemingly every few hours to check on things there! :-) Anyway, I hope it is a great weekend for you!
