Guest guest
Could this have been a Sustiva related side effect in addition to all the weird dreams and brain activity while I was sleeping? Has any one of you seen this or have noticed the wear on the edges of you front teeth? I don't know if it was from the Sustiva, but I had the teeth grinding, and was biting my lips and inside of my cheeks. I was on Sustiva for two years. A few years ago my dentist suggested the guard, and I have been using it ever since. I was also biting my tongue sometimes. I think it comes from tension, and I'm sure that the Sustiva dreams add to this. I have medicare/medicaid insurance..and the medicaid pays for the guard. Has any one of you seen > this or have noticed the wear on the edges of you front teeth? It's very common to grind your teeth when you sleep. You might have no idea you do it, or you might notice that you've got a bit of a headache when you first wake up. I've never heard of HIV meds contributing to the habit, but I suppose anything's possible. But it's just as possible you do it having nothing whatsoever to do with HIV. A previous dentist told me I do it and also sold me on the mouthguard. My dental insurance paid part of the cost. To tell you the truth, the mouthguard is a pain to wear, and I often wake up in the morning and find that I took it out in my sleep. That's when I even bother to wear it. I think for a lot of dentists, mouthguards are a very lucrative money-making item. The same dentist told me I needed all 5 of my fillings replaced at once. I switched dentists, and the new one told me only 2 of them needed replacement. Quelle surprise. You can also buy mouthguards in the drugstore that aren't custom- made, more " one size fits all " . They might work just as well. Especially if you're going to be as bad about wearing it as me...
Guest guest
No, Grinding Teeth does not cause or started with any HIV medicines. I had Grinding Teeth when I was very young. It is habit like bite fingernails all the time. I stopped Grinding teeth after use night guard I worn each night for few weeks. It work well. --- jim98122x wrote: > > > > > I recently went to the dentist and had all my > front teeth repaired > with white > > fillings because I grind my teeth while I sleep. > Or so he tells > me.
