Guest guest
Hi ~I think I have this one in my virgin pile! She has a new one out - Zero to 60 that looks good - it looks like an aerobic w/ weights combo. Our morning went pretty well and was stress free. Now, to keep it up for the rest of the year! But, I'll just go day by day for now!Donna Subject: Monday WorkoutTo: exercisevideos Date: Monday, August 29, 2011, 9:32 AM Good morning! I wasn't looking forward to Monday morning at all. Last week just went so slow with school each and everyday. Now we do it all again. Anyway, another early morning. I got up and had some breakfast and did a Sharon Twombly workout for the first time. I did Athletic Step Jam. I did all 3 step jams. I didn't have time for the challenge. This was a fun workout. Moves pretty fast, but thank God that Sharon has AWESOME cuing. I REALLY like her style. She isn't chatty at all. She's all about the workout and making sure you get the steps down. I got mixed a few times, but overall I did so much better then I thought I would when I previewed this one. I wish I would've came across this instructor a long time ago. She's definitely my type. I want to do the ball section this week and the abs. I burned 505 calories in one hour. Love that! Have a great day! And I hope everyone is safe from the storm.~~
Guest guest
Thanks! This one is on my wishlist!!! Donna Subject: Monday WorkoutTo: Cathe_Friedrich_Fans , exercisevideos , fitandthatsit Date: Monday, September 5, 2011, 11:30 AM This morning I decided to try Sharon's Zero To Sixty. With no school I knew I could do the whole thing without having to rush. I really thought this wouldn't be super hard, but man it sure was. It really surprised me. She uses 2 lb DB for the warm up and you hold weights the entire hour long. You wouldn't think 2's and 5 lb DB would get you so tired, but I was pushing it from the very beginning. After the warm up she does a total of 5 combos (combo 1 is the warm up). I just held my 2 lb weighted gloves in my hand for the times where she picks up her 2's. There was no way I was using my 3's. At one point, I had to put my weights down and march in place, I think it was combo 4. With her holding either 2's or 5's the entire workout, it gets really tough. Even combo 2 where she picks up the 5's for the first time felt so heavy. The one thing I didn't care for was that she holds the 2's for the warm up and the cool down. So here's how the workout goes. I didn't write down the exercises, but a lot of shoulder work. Combo 1- warm up (2 lb) Combo 2- 5 lb (10 min) Combo 3- 2 lb (10 min) Combo 4- 5 lb (15 min) Combo 5- 2 lb ( 10 min) Abs 7 min I REALLY liked the abs. It was short, but I still got a great burn. For this whole workout it was 68 minutes and I burned 490 calories. I will keep this one, but it will have a dread factor for me. I also think I'll use the premixes too. These are the premixes Zero To 40- Light weight day Zero To 40- Heavy weight day Zero To 30- All Interval Zero To 26- All combos (no breakdowns) Oh and the music rocked...I loved it!! Have a great Labor Day!!~~

Guest guest
Good morning! Today was Maximum Intensity Strength (Upper Body). This is an oldie, but a goodie, IMO. I didn't do the warm up. I did yoga instead as my warm up. That's what I had down in my notes from the last time, so I stuck with that. I did Yoga Shakti and just chose one of the 8 minute segments. I did the abs in MIS too. The abs are straight forward, but a nice change. I enjoy doing just the traditional ab crunches every now and then. This workout seems to move fast. My arms were frying. This workout was an hour total. I'll do the legs another time. Guest guest
I hope is okay! I used to be bullied / picked on at school and for a time volunteered / worked in the library shelving books to avoid being with other kids outside..Hugs  Good morning!     This week starts off the CTX workouts.  Today started with 10-10-10.   This one includes tricep work at the end. I wasn't fond of the cardio, lots of jumping. I'm glad that part is only 30 minutes. I really liked the tricep work AND I REALLY liked that this workout was only 45 minutes. I didn't realize this. I had some extra time this morning and every minute counts on school mornings.  I burned 343 calories.   TRICEP WORK: Close grip barbell presses 2 sets while laying on step ( I used 15 DB)French press ( two sets of 16 ) 8lb one arm French press while standing up... 8lbs one arm tricep kickback w/ 5 lb both exercises other arm then repeat each arm again both exercises. Tricep pushups 8 reps...   OT: Called the teacher this morning. Going to set up a time to go talk to her and find out why has gotten recess just one time this year. She cried in the drop off line this morning because she saw they put up new slides.  I'm hoping she calls so we can go today because we don't have Myles today.  Have a great day!~~

Awesome job !!  This morning started off the Slow & Heavy workouts. I was looking forward to doing these. Those of you that know me and this series know that I change it up. I don't do the slow. I do a little higher reps and my counts are a little faster. Most of my rep speed is 2 reps for every 1 of Cathe's. I do 2 of the exercises with Cathe and do the slow.  So the first one was Legs & Shoulders. I like this one a lot.  LEGS:pre-exhaustive set of lunges (12 DB)Squats (BB) 45 (25 reps) 3 sets pre-exhaustive set of rear lunges 12 DB Stationary Lunges- 20 DB (25 reps) 2 setsSide lunge (1) DB 15  ( I don't feel this exercise much) Plie squats (1) DB 30  (25 reps) 3 setsCalve raises (2 sets of 25)  SHOULDERS: front raises  10 DB (15 reps) 3 setsside lateral raises 8 DB (15 reps) 3 setsposterior delt raise 8 DB (slow count of 6 up and 2 down) 8 reps  (3 sets)seated overhead presses 2 sets 12 DB 15 reps ( 2 sets) rotator cuff (2 sets) 3 DB  slow count of 6 up and 2 down) 8 reps ( 2 sets)  This workout is a little over an hour. Time flew by though. I really liked changing it up and doing it the way I liked it. Makes it so much more fun.   Have a great day!~~

Guest guest
Yes, send us a fence pic when it's up!!  Hope you love that fence ! Nice job with the workout, sounds like you worked hard!D  Good morning!    The fence guy called me last night and their starting on it this morning. I'm really excited about it.  OK, so on to the workout this morning. I'm going to continue on with doing my workouts. I got her Circuit Burn in the mail and previewed it over the weekend. I decided I'd just go with that one today.  I was going to do the first one and then some yoga, but decided to just do both workouts, so I did the combined premix. I needed a good hard and high calorie burn after eating so badly over the weekend. I burned 453 calories so I was happy with that. My average was 145 and I got 4200 steps.  My opinion on the workout? It was good, but repetitive. I wasn't in love with her repeating the same exercises twice. I think doing just one workout at a time when you're short on time it works well. I liked all the exercises and the cardio sections. I especially liked the boxing sections.  For workout # 1 round 1 I used 7's and 12's Round #2 12's Workout #2 round 1 and 2 I used 12's and 10   Have a great day!~~
Guest guest
Hi!Well, you all know how nervous I get about mammos! And, I have finnicky breasts that make the mammos difficult to read (I have very dense tissue) and also require follow up ultrasounds. I will say that the waiting is the WORST part. I'm surprised, , that they don't tell you the results right there. When I had my first screening mammo at age 36 or 37, they used x-ray technology and you did have to wait to receive the results (usually they sent a letter either saying everything was fine or recommending a follow-up), but now that they have digital technology at the place I go to - they do the mammo, have you return to the waiting room, then they call you back to either give you the results and set you free or to take more views. In my case, it is usually to take more views and then to do an ultrasound! Which, sends my anxiety levels completely off the charts, even though I should be used to it by now. I have to go in November for a 6 month follow-up. Anyway - just want to give you some ((HUGS)) and support - it is good to have the tests done but I so get the anxiety!Donna Subject: Re: Monday WorkoutTo: exercisevideos Date: Monday, October 17, 2011, 9:44 PM Hi , Definitely waiting is the worst part. That's great that they have a number you can call for results but I totally understand about the fear of calling it too. I would guess if the results are at all questionable that there would be a vague, call your doctor kind of message. You don't have to call it either though, you can just wait until your doctor informs you. At the hospitals I've gone to they tell survivors before they even get dressed because they know we'll be totally insane if they keep us waiting any longer than that. Usually, they come back within 20 minutes (a radiologist reads it and, if necessary, asks for more pictures then reads it again and the nurse gives you the results). They also send you a letter a week or so later telling you the results. We'll all keep you in our prayers for good news though and for that awful waiting time! Hugs, Re: Monday Workout Hooray for you setting up your mammogram appointment!!! Mammograms save lives, I'm living proof (7 1/2 years of it)!!! That's AWESOME . I'm a little scared, I have to admit. Not about the test, but about the waiting. They said they would send a copy of the results to my doctor but they would give me a card with a number on it and I could call it in 24-48 hours and it would have an automated message to me about the test. I thought that was pretty nifty, but then if it's something bad you don't want to hear that either. ~

The lady that done the test today asked me if anyone had told me that I had dense tissue. She showed me the pictures and showed me how hard it is to see. I asked if I could know the results while I was there (which is what they did in 2004) but she said they don't do that on the screenings, but will tell you if you come in for a diagnostic test. They gave me a card and it has an ID number on it. She said to call it tomorrow, but not to be surprised if they don't have the results because they have to get my last results from the warehouse since it had been so long. She said they compare them with this test. So it looks like my wait might be longer. I just have to try to forget about because there's nothing I can do anyway. I wish you luck when you go for your follow up. Just knowing you have to go causes anxiety, at least it does for me. ~

Guest guest
The doctors gave my husband something of real fright. During a regular check-up DRE, the family doc said he " didn't like what he felt at the prostate.-- But don't worry about it! " The he went directly to a phone and call a Urologist-friend, and scheduled a biopsy for the NEXT DAY! The appointment was made for before normal office hours! " But don't be worried! It's probably nothing. " Worse, he got a call from the doctor's office the day after the biopsy asking to make an appointment to go over test results... He said he nearly fainted... and then realized it was a call from his orthopedic doctor about his shoulder... Turns out the prostate thing was a secondary inflammation due to a hidden bladder infection, and antibiotics cleared everything up -- but that was found AFTER the biopsy, and the fear. Guest guest
Yes! I really is a double-edged sword. You want to be absolutely sure the doctors didn't miss anything (and they want to be sure to, at least in part, so you don't sue them!) but there is a lot of unnecessary fear, anxiety, pain and follow-up sometimes. I know one of the debates about doing mammograms in pre-menopausal women is that it does result in a lot of false positives. Of course, we have our , who got lucky to have her cancer detected so early as a result of an initial screening mammogram - so, what to do? , hang in there, try not to worry. I'm still really surprised that they don't give same day results where you are. That is one thing I'm happy about here - I go, I wait and sweat it out, and I know at the end of the appointment if everything is ok or not. Also, in my case, it is good b/c I'm there for the second and third views and the ultrasound - no need to have to schedule another appointment and wait and worry. when I had my cyst aspirated last spring, I was lucky to get an appointment w/in 2 days. I would have gone NUTS waiting. The funny thing is my insurance comany keeps denying the claims saying that they are duplicate claims, and I keep having to call and re-assure them that in fact, I had about 6 mammograms and 2 ultrasounds and a procedure over the period of 2 days. AARGH!I also had a friend at work who was called in for a biopsy - turned out to be nothing. Hang in there! The he went directly to a phone and call a Urologist-friend, and scheduled a biopsy for the NEXT DAY! The appointment was made for before normal office hours! "But don't be worried! It's probably nothing." Worse, he got a call from the doctor's office the day after the biopsy asking to make an appointment to go over test results... He said he nearly fainted... and then realized it was a call from his orthopedic doctor about his shoulder...Turns out the prostate thing was a secondary inflammation due to a hidden bladder infection, and antibiotics cleared everything up -- but that was found AFTER the biopsy, and the fear.Indyrose>> > > > > Well, you all know how nervous I get about mammos! Guest guest
Guest guest
I always get anxious about going to the doctor - no matter what it is - I have a dental appointment on Thursday - I'm always fearing oral cancer! I know that is insane, but I just get very anxious and worried about doctor visits - even routine ones like a dental cleaning! Donna Subject: Re: Monday WorkoutTo: exercisevideos Date: Tuesday, October 18, 2011, 12:08 PM Well, you all know how nervous I get about mammos! I'm surprised, , that they don't tell you the results right there They told me I had very dense tissue also. The last one I had was in 2004 and I had forgot that they told me that. I asked if I could know the results while I was there (which is what they did in 2004) but she said they don't do that on the screenings, but will tell you if you come in for a diagnostic test. Guest guest
Same here. I went for a pap test w simple of months ago and it was the first one I'd had in over 7 years. I was scared out of my mind. I'm glad that's over now. Now getting me to to back when I need to will be a challenge even though I KNOW I need to.**----- Reply message -----To: <exercisevideos >Subject: Monday WorkoutDate: Tue, Oct 18, 2011 1:42 pm I always get anxious about going to the doctor - no matter what it is - I have a dental appointment on Thursday - I'm always fearing oral cancer! Guest guest
I did that once. I waited 8 years, and everything was OK, but that's not the best idea, LOL. They gave me a good talking-to. :)Good luck! I hope all turns out well. Same here. I went for a pap test w simple of months ago and it was the first one I'd had in over 7 years.
