Guest guest
Yeh, he's got that nice little pooch in front, doesn't he, and it isn't a poodle either. Keeps him walking bolt upright. I can get nasty, when I want to. Could it be his estrogen or his cortisol? When it poops out, he'll understand us better then, won't he? It always takes one to know one, huh? The jerk. Guest guest
Is she really? How did you find that out? I wonder what her treatment is. Maybe that is why he says we just have to try harder - she is a health nut and exercises all the time! She is also on a gluten-free AND sugar-free diet. I guess we would all be skinny if we ate that way!Jan wrote: Dr. Phil's wife is hypothyroid. wrote: Yeh, he's got that nice little pooch in front, doesn't he, and it isn't apoodle either. Guest guest
I am sure she also has the money for the best medical care available. I have been tired of Dr. Phil lately, and that story is just another nail in the coffin of my distaste. (Sorry for such a crummy metaphor.) Courtenay. >Is she really? How did you find that out? Guest guest
And she's probably been going through hell at his hands, if it's the way everyone that works around him and for him says it is. They said he is hell on wheels to work for or around, so I can't even immagine being married to him. No wonder she's hypo. Aaaaaaaa!!! He probably has as little understanding for her as anyone else, when it comes to this. Re: Dr Phil.. here I come! Dr. Phil's wife is hypothyroid. Guest guest
Ah, hahahahahhahahahaha!!!!!!!!! Isn't THAT something. She's doing her OWN thing, while he spouts off about "trying harder". She's married to him, so she knows him better than anyone, and she probably just quietly goes about doing it all her way, while he blusters on about how people aren't trying hard enough. That's funny. I see the scenario, but can't put it into words. Re: Dr Phil.. here I come! She is on Armour. There was a discussion on About Thyroid a few months back. Guest guest
I think that's sort of what I was trying to say. Seems like the very least he could do, as his wife would have a complete understanding of it. Re: Dr Phil.. here I come! Yeah, his show has gotten stale. Okay, it REALLY irritates me that his wife is suffering from this and he isn't even motivated enough to do a show on it? He could even have her talk about it. Man... Guest guest
If she got diagnosed quickly and put on Armour soon thereafter, she may not be having all the problems that many of us are having. Hypothyroidism causes tissue damage. It can take years to heal. And some of us may never be normal. This is what most docs do not understand. wrote: Ah, hahahahahhahahahaha!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
At first, I thought his methodology and orthodoxy were pretty good-- full of common sense. Then it became apparent that the point of the show was to make someone cry on camera. And, he's just so flip about everything that it makes me think he's never really had it hard. Of COURSE he's not going to do a show on hypothyroidism. What kind of flip answers can you provide in a case like that? Best-- Courtenay. >Yeah, his show has gotten stale. Guest guest
I went undiagnosed for ten years, from the ages of 19 to 29. What kind of permanent damage are we talking about here? Guest guest
Courtenay, You may want to get a letter started to Dr. Phil, as long as you are going to write one to Oprah! :-) > Did Dr. Phil actually say that??? > > Courtenay. >

Guest guest
Inflexible crampy muscles, for starters. Thyroid and other endocrine receptors that don't do their job very well. Nerve and muscle damage: neuropathy and myopathy. Osteoporosis. Courtenay wrote: I went undiagnosed for ten years, from the ages of 19 to 29. What kind of permanent damage are we talking about here? Guest guest
Hi ! How was your trip? I'm glad you're back! As for Dr. Phil-- someone needs to straighten that man out. As soon as I get well enough, I'm going to write him a letter, too. Good idea! Best-- Courtenay. Guest guest
Oh, ****. Well. That explains a lot. Thank you so much for responding so quickly, Jan. The massage I got last week felt like I was rolling around in broken glass. My back was so tight that I had no mobility. The therapist who did it was excellent though. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens next. I've only been on thyroid replacement therapy for eight months, and I am still underdiagnosed. Also, I haven't completely quit smoking-- that will happen in the next four weeks. I am just going to have to be uber-vigilant about my health. Courtenay. Inflexible crampy muscles, for starters.
