Guest guest Posted May 27, 2004 Report Share Posted May 27, 2004 My son was 23 months old when he was diagnosed with autism. He is now six and he said his first word just a two months ago. For three and a half years, we struggled with a home-based therapy program, and he progressed very little. Then I met the people at the Marcus Institute and they started an early intervention program. He has been going to Marcus from 9 to 3 for almost exactly one year. He is doing so well. He hasn't lashed out at me in months. He is starting to communicate and he is happy. I want to help Marcus to grow my son's program and to help families better benefit from their services. If you have had any experience with Marcus Institute, good or bad, I want to know your opinions and experience. I want to help them understand how they can better help us. What are your needs? My son's program is year-round. Would summer programs help? What do you think is a fair cost to parents for a year-round program?
