Guest guest
Patty so happy to hear you got some correction! Correction is correction, right? Isabella is only on cast3 so you have some time to get those numbers down a bit, but just think about where you started and how far Isabella has come....this is great news! Dont worry, everyday day that goes by and shes in a cast, her little spine is learning to grow straighter and straighter(: Dianna (mommy to Marcela, 18 mos. in 3rd cast) > > > >From: Patty Bowen <bowenpattyyahoo (DOT) com> > >Subject: [infantile_scoliosi s] Isabella's 3rd cast > >To: infantile_scoliosis @yahoogroups. com > >Date: Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 12:13 AM > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >> > > > >We got back Friday night from Isabella's 3rd casting and it's just been crazy the last couple of days, so for those of you that didn't see this on facebook, we didn't get much correction. I know that it's more accurate having the curve measured while standing but I was glad to have this one done laying down because last time Isabella was fighting like crazy and we didn't know how accurate the x-rays were. She started at 64 degrees laying down on July 1st (which means she was probably worse) and in September went to 44 out of cast and this time we got 6 degrees, down to 38, out of cast. I guess any correction is good correction. I'm just worried that next time it will be even less or nothing. > > Patty, mom of Isabella, 2 years old, in 3rd cast > > (Rochester) & mom to & Evan > > > > > > > > > Reply to sender | Reply to group Messages in this topic (4) > Recent Activity: * New Members 1 * New Photos 5 > Visit Your Group Start a New Topic > MARKETPLACE > Parenting Zone: Your community resource for family and home > > Switch to: Text-Only, Daily Digest • Unsubscribe • Terms of Use > . > > __,_.._,___ >

Guest guest
Patty,I think 6 degrees of improvement is GREAT! BUT I do know how you feel. 's improvement was very slow, but after 6 casts he was down to 15 degrees. 4 of those casts basically staying the same so he went into a brace from that point.Hang in there.....every little bit of correction is a step in the right direction. Guest guest
Patty, 6 degrees is great! Congrats! We've had a couple of casts with no change in numbers and that's also normal and very common (although disappointing because you always want better numbers!) so any steps in the right direction are huge successes! Dr. S warned me about the snow there and said if she has to stay in the cast longer than 2 months, no big deal, he doesn't want us traveling in the snow.
