Guest guest
Hi!! I am Missy and we are up here in Augusta, GA. Being overwhelmed is very common and I'm glad you're here. there are a lot of people in this group that can. First of all has your son been diagnosed by a doctor? Getting a formal diagnosis will help a great deal. with that you can apply for help if you need to. Also with your son being 2 he would still qualify for the Early Intervention program and they could asses him to see if he needs therapy. You can also apply for SSI for him and if he qualifies then that will help quite a bit in funding the ABA therapy that you want for him. Second, I am curious to know what tipped his grandmother off that he might be autistic? I know caretakers pick up so much before others might see it. MISSYSAHM to some special kids!!! Excuse Me While I Go Raise Tomorrow's Future. Parent of an Autisic Age 2 I am in Statesboro, and I have been in the military for 2 yrs. I was told by my children's caretaker(grandmother) that he was autistic. I was upset after looking at the first site I saw on Autism, (can't remember the site. I got out of the military in June and I am still trying to figure out what exactly autism is and how to deal with it. I read all this stuff on the sites and don't understand it at all. Diets and drugs and stuff I think has nothing to do with my son. We are about to finally start ABA for him, I know about as much of it as it is like sophisticated dog training. I feel as if I was shoved into something I didn't ask for. coming home to take care of him is really hard because I didn't do the research his grandmother did, and now I am having to deal with the therapist( a whole nother story), and get ready to start his ABA. I feel so overwhelmed by all this that I could sit and cry but No time to cry I have to much to do.

Guest guest
I have already applied for SSi for him He has to go to the doctor tomorrow for his ssi evaluation. She noticed that he just stopped saying simple words like dada and baba all the usual baby stuff and then read and article on autism and noticed some of the other signs. > Hi!! > > I am Missy and we are up here in Augusta, GA. Guest guest
We took him to the doctor yesterday (the appointment SSI made for him), and the doctor said after checking him out that he would concur with the neurologist report to social security. So we should be recieving hopefully the checks soon. > I agree, looks like you are on the right track!! Let us know how it all goes. > MISSY > SAHM to some special kids!!! > > Excuse Me While I Go > Raise Tomorrow's Future.
