Guest guest
I wasn't sure what to do tonight, as I didn't want to overdo things coming off an illness, yet I was feeling pretty good. Good ol' to the rescue! I have her 5 Mile Advanced and decided to parts of that. I started modifying the walks -- on this DVD, the pace is pretty quick, so I started jogging in place. I was amazed that I could keep that going for most of the miles! I've come a ways in my fitness! :-) Is there much difference between jogging in place, jogging on a treadmill or jogging on a track? I found jogging in place seemed to be much easier, psychologically, but my legs felt about the same. (Or I imagined they did...) Any one know?? If jogging in place is " Okay " I may try that for the rest of C25K. Indyrose

Guest guest
I agree - running outside is different from the TM. The TM does have lower impact - and I think it is easier than running outside. I can run longer and faster on the TM than I can outdoors - I guess there is also no wind resistance on the TM either! Running outdoors is a much more natural movement, too.Donna I wasn't sure what to do tonight, as I didn't want to overdo things coming off an illness, yet I was feeling pretty good. Guest guest
this is what a video I was looking at regarding running technique was saying.. practice running in place first! so I think they recommend doing that prior to treadmill or outside... anyway.. i do it as a warm upjudyTo: exercisevideos Sent: Monday, August 22, 2011 10:04 PMSubject: Re: Back in the groove Monday My TM is a rinky-dink cheap one, and it's not very well cushioned at all. (It's also too narrow and short for good running, either!) It worked fine for walking. I have the fatigue mats for my aerobics floor, which are pretty good on the cushioning. That's probably a good reason why jogging in place felt better there, too. That, and the fact that I've trained myself to land on my feet much softer than I ever did.
