Guest guest
The easy thing to start with is no, no and no to be on the safe side ;-0! Beans and chick peas will have carbs, pasta's will have grains and gluten, cheese will have lactose and possibly mold, Tomato in moderation should be okay, potatoes hare high carb and corn is another product used to make sweeteners (corn syrup, etc) so that should be out for a while. Tuna is okay. To be safe (when I'm being strict), I stick to fresh greens veggies, peppers, avocado, artichoke (no peas, beans, etc.) and protein. It takes about 4 days for me to lose my cravings altogether. > Hi- I am new to the group and have some questions about a candida- > free diet. Guest guest
Do you have any suggestions for Cookbooks/recipes? All that I have seen still show recipes with " forbidden " foods. Thanks! > > Hi- I am new to the group and have some questions about a candida- > > free diet. So many web sites are SO contradictory. > > > > Can these foods be eaten:? > > > > Beans/Chick Peas (ie. Guest guest
It's not easy. I ordered that Feast without Yeast book online. It has helped. I still eat some kamut and brown rice as my starch.... but I limit those a lot. Don't give up. Believe it or not, it does seem to get easier. Guest guest
I too am wondering about cooked cheese. On Tripp's website it says you can have cheese as long as it is well-cooked and eaten hot - same thing with bread. If this is true, it opens the way for a lot more variety - toasted sandwiches for example. I do know that potatoes with red skin are ok as they're less starchy. Guest guest
I asked Dr. G's office about this a while ago...they said that oatmeal can be a problem for some children. However, they did say that as long as his food panel didn't show a problem with oats, I could try giving it to my child and see how he reacted -- and he was fine. Donna questions about diet Hi guys! Just a quick question. Are Quaker instant oats o.k. on the diet as long as you use rice milk with them? I can't see anything that is not allowed there, but wanted to check. Thanks! Guest guest
IF you are totally GF then oats contain gluten - though less than wheat - so to be avoided. If you are not GF and avoiding whole grains as per " Do's and Don'ts of Diet " , then I'd check with Dr G to see if he regards rolled oats as a " whole grain " - I suspect not but worth checking questions about diet Hi guys! Guest guest
> can someone, other than bee, please explain from > there own experiences that i am wrong with my thoughts > and that this diet is beneficial. > > I d ont mean to sound so sceptical but it is just a > different way of thinking. > > thank you. > > toni > Hi Toni, My understanding is that the body gets more than enough energy from the healthy recommended fats, without the risks of high carbohydrates (over consumption of even natural sugars like gruit and grain) feeding candida and upsetting the blood sugar inside the body. The body does not need lots of fruit and grain! That alone, even without white sugar, can be enough for some to upset their blood sugar, feed their candida, and then gain weight (or in some cases become underweight). Protein and fats are needed by the body to help provide raw materials for tissue repair, to encourage bile production (which helps eliminate toxins), for the skin, the brain (which is made up mostly of fat), for the cells and so it goes on. So often we think we need water, when the body is crying out for fat also, as the body is made up of water and fat. There is no need for the pushing of the high carbohydrates. Fruits are healthy, but again, they are natural sugar and people do not need to consume piles of them and they are not crucial for existance/health. Grain can be a problem for many people, both because of allergies, the fact it feeds candida, most of them contain gluten (which can cause disease on its own). Also most grain you get now is not what it once was anyway, it's contaminated and any goodness it may have once had, has usually been stripped away for longer shelf life. Animals do great on grain, humans can run into all sorts of problems. Plain sugar free yoghurt is great!!! but again, some that have candida may not tolerate it at first, which is why Bee recommends excluding it at first, but they maybe able to include it later on down the road after improvement/recovery. The first part of the diet is more deliberately restrictive to starve out the yeast, one can relax a little later as symptoms allow and health has improved. But again, if fruits and grains were so healthy and necessary, why would anybody need to exclude or at the very least severely limit them in order to help starve their candida out and improve? Why on earth would they make some of us so ill, it's almost as though we had gone out and eaten junk food? So, they can definitely be a risk. Bee's diet provides all that is needed for health, function and repair, without upsetting blood sugar levels and/or feeding the yeast. People who are already well, may do fine on fruit and grains etc, but they are not necessary for health, in fact as I've mentioned can be counterproductive, especially if overconsumed. We have never had so much obesity in our society and illness, yet this recommended diet by the so-called health experts is not only not helpful it is damaging as the body needs protein and healthy fats to repair and run on, yet they behave as though fats, meat and eggs should be in very limited amounts and grains and fruits etc in high amounts. High carbohydrates serve for an energy boost and often more than not, leave the person more fatigued over time. I have found that bee's diet is all I can handle. If i venture into eating grain or fruit, I will deteriorate quite rapidly now because they serve just to feed yeast at this point. If I were stronger, I would probably be ok eating them, but again I do not miss them at all and realise that I never needed them anyway. You can get enough fruit by having some lemon, tomatoes and lime (ok on this diet), which do not feed yeast. The other fruits are delicious and would be ok if you did not have candida, but if you have, they are not good. THis diet is mainly for those ill or/and have candida, so they can regain their health. But anybody, even healthy people can follow this and be doing themselves a service, and most likely avoid future problems. Doesn't mean they have to be as strict as the rest of us candida people, but they'd be very wise to follow it as closely as possible for their health investment and quality of life. . We address people by their names rather than email addresses, here. Thanks :-) Quality butter should be " certified organic " or organic and unsalted. However, you can use regular unsalted butter and still regain and maintain your health, so no worries. No, xylitol isn't good to consume. Xylitol is manufactured by extracting xylan from birch wood or corn cobs, and reacting it with water to produce xylose or " wood sugar. " Hydrogen (H2) is then added to make 'xylitol'. [Paraphrasing Bee] Stevia is the only safe sweetener. Do not buy any processed kind of stevia; only buy the green ground up leaf. You will have to check your source of the almonds in Europe to see if they are irradiated. Irradiation laws differ between countries around the world. Diflucan is not advisable due to it being toxic/hard on the liver. Bee removed taking any antifungals other than unrefined coconut oil, so you shouldn't be taking Nystatin or Diflucan for candida. The reason is because Candida cannot be cured by " killing it off. " It just doesn't work that way. Candida is only cured by building up the immune system, which is done by: 1) Consuming " proper nutrients " (diet plus supplements). 2) Eliminating toxins and foods that feed candida (they also feed bacteria and cancer). 3) Eliminating damaging foods. 4) Eliminating toxins in general. When the immune system is strong enough it will automatically " make " candida (or any bug, cancer, etc.) change back into the organism it was intended to be when the body is healthy. Thank you for answer You know stevia tastes horrible but what about jacob syrup? I watched recipe with cake with this syrup in candida diet also xylitol is not health or it feeds candida?... and what about chicolin, glycerin and chicory sweetener? what about coffee without caffeine(ajurveda or spelt coffee) I am really not clever from your answer about butter. because in Czech republic organic butter doesnt exist at all!! :-( All butters here are ,,just butter " (no information on wrap) from cow milk or animals. but im a bit vegetarian (exactly i eat just chicken and fishes, milk products were the one what i ate) so i wouldnt like eat it... Can I eat butter from cow's milk? It is very important for me because I eat it with vegetables all the time and I afraid that I eat something bad because it tastes good To antiflugals: sorry but I ate coconut oil long time ago and even caprylic acid but no better my candida symptoms... I try: echinacea, caprylic acid(+coconut oil), grepfruit seeds(supplement and fresh), garlic (supplement and fresh), PM Chlamydyl extra, I tried: FemiVaxinum Neo, Mycomax, Prokanazol and I take Nystatin now... I must say Nystatin as the one from all herbal product has some efect which is visible. But I havent information about health people who really eliminated candida by herbal way. Just wanna say coconut oil is really not big enemy to yeast of each person...why do you think it can absolutely helps us? Thank you Axel
Guest guest
Hei there, as Bee seems to be busy I will jump in here shortly, but I am not a mod so the better infos will come later > - Which type of butter is the best and how I can discern it? (I know it must be organic but I dont know what exactly it means). It is very important because it is the one milk product which is allow in diet. Every butter is good, but organic is better. Organic is in the most countries in europe called " bio " which simply means there are many restrictions on what the cow is allowed to eat, what sort of medication it gets and how his live circumstances are. I dont know where you are, but I am sure you can find " organic " or " bio " in a translator to your language. > - Is good to use right cacao beans in diet? (without sugar of course, from Africa for example) That you found already > - What about Xylitol? its sweetener and many people believe it can kills candida, because candida parasites think its sugar - and it is not. All sweeteners are chemicals, and as a cvhemist I can tell you that you really shouldnt have any of those. If you look for a sweeterner try stevia: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/stevia2.php you might not get it anywhere, but you can order it online, Bee has some recommendations for iherb: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/resource/iherb.php Anyway, try to avoid all processed foods > - Almonds. I read your conviction about its radiation, but isnt it just in US? I come from Europe, so I suppose the almonds here are ok,..? It depends, in most european countires (at least in Germany and Finnland) they should be ok, but I can find lots of nuts from the US here, and I fdont know whether they would state that they are radiated, even when it is the law...check the food administration homepage of your country for the laws regarding that, and ask the company you want to buy the nuts from whether they do it or not. > Finally (except diet) I read many websites about candida herbal elimination and Im still in doubt in its elimination by systemic and herbal products. What do you think about Nystatin or Diflucan, could it be helpful in candida elimination? if couldnt, why doctors believe it - what do you think? I am sure the mods and/or Bee will answer on that, but in general: not needed and not recommended. you cant kill candida off, as it is written in the articel you got sent when you registered for this group. And personally I have gotten several treatment phases with nystatin and the candida was never really gone, so its pointless anyway It is a whole new world and many infos, huh? Just try to read through the website (haha I am still in the process as well), and welcome to the group! You will experience a lot of changes in your body soon, enjoy that!!
