Guest guest
Way to go, Darcy! I love to walk outside now that I'm used to it - the time also passes by quickly b/c I usually walk w/ my friend and we chat as we go along. Normally we go for 2+ hours (last week we only did 1 hour, 45 min b/c of the heat). She google mapped it and figured out that last week we did 7.8 miles - so our pace is faster than a 15 min mile, even in the heat! We have been walking together for close to a year. I am not sure I'd be able to do as much on my own unless I had music to go w/ it and that can be dangerous depending on where you walk. I also do enjoy the TM though but I actually tire of it sooner - I dno't think I could walk for 2 hours on it - I think at one point I may have done an hour or close to it. But generally, w/ the TM 45 min is my limit. Great job!!!Donna To: Cathe_Friedrich_Fans ; exercisevideos <exercisevideos >; workout.notes Sent: Tue, July 26, 2011 8:36:42 AMSubject: Treadmill Walk (bit of jog) YA-HOO!!!!!!!! I am soooo happy. I totally enjoyed my workout this morning. Loved it. It was a million times better on the treadmill than out and about. I think for a few reasons - 1) Not intimidating to be so far from home 2) Don't have to deal w/ oncoming cars (I don't want to be looked at) 3) I had music 4) I could jog! With that said, I didn't try to jog until the last minutes..maybe like 7, and then I would jog and break? I had been tempted the past couple of days when walking but thought it to be ridiculous being 9 months pregnant. And, I surely didn't want anyone to see me. Today, I attempted at the end, and it felt great! Really really got the endorphins going I had my heart rate more higher than I intended though at 171 a couple of times, which I'm sure is okay, but I wouldn't want to do that all the time while pregnant.Anyway, time went by pretty darn fast too. I will never be walking outside again..at least while pregnant I'm sticking to the treadmill!I started off at 2.5 MPH, but then held steadily at 3.2 - 3.5MPH. When jogging, U put it at 4.00 mph. In the end, I went 1.64 miles in 30:13 minutes. I shut my HRM off at 35 minutes and burned 376 calories with my average at 128. Much better burn and average than my highway walks :)D, who is happy to find a "walking" solution for this pregnant body.....
