Guest guest
Yes you can.....a patient can have several doctors. There's a place on the lab slip where you can write who to send copies to....but the doctors usually do not bother filling it out....and when the patient comes in he says I just had lab done by such and such doctor....You can call the lab and ask for them. I have done many times....with the patient's permission, of course. If the lab says to get them from whoever ordered them you can say the patient is here now and I need them right away. They will ask you for ss#, date of birth and date of service and if you know tha doctor's account number is even easier. It is ridiculous to think that if a doctor is on vacation and his office is closed, you wouldn't be able to get results directly from the lab. Guest guest
Dear ebommi: Our city (I live in CA) " adopted " 65 families that lost their homes because of Katrina. Since our local community is about 50% Anglo, 50% Hispanic and very few Blacks, we worried about how our families would feel moving across the country to live with people known for playing golf all the time for Pete's sake! In fact, we worried so much that we all had a meeting to discuss how we could make them feel welcome. We asked the Marriott, who would be providing the lodging, to house them in the townhouse complex instead of hotel rooms. This way they have their own kitchens and a big play area for the children. We had a concert to get donations and the response from the community was incredible. We also found schools for the children and made a list of possible jobs ....and I thought of an add on the paper asking people to donate cars they may have in their garage not being used....we got many...the problem was getting them running again....LOL...some had been sitting in the garage without being touched for years! Thankfully, some of my patients who are mechanics, (one owns a transmission shop), came to our rescue. I've always said I raise very good patients....wow....I was so proud. It was exciting meeting our 65 families....we were all there to welcome them. We wanted them to see how different we all are so they would know this was home. They were very quiet at the beggining....I think they were shocked that we were so " huggy " ....LOL....but they started to relax when they saw how well all our kids played together...and they laughed when I couldn't keep their names straight. As a matter of fact....we laughed alot....and we were thanked so many times that I finally said no more thanks are necessary.... their smiles were thanks enough. We're not abandoning them now they're here...hell, no....our plan goes way beyond that. We still have to show them around, go with them to register the children in school, make sure the children get caught up, find a pediatrician, (CA has low cost insurance for children...we thought about that too)and on and on. I am proud to say, that none of us did it for curiosity, but the amount of warm fuzzies.....those will last us for a long, long time.....oh....and by the way...our 65 families....we're not giving them back....
