We stayed at the Homestead Suites in Anaheim -- walking distance from and on

the trolly route to Disneyland. It was about $70/night and was a nice suite

with a king-sized bed in one room and a queen-sized sleeper couch, fridge and

microwave in another room. We arranged for it on lodging.com. You might

also try priceline.com. We've gotten some really good deals at nice hotels

on priceline.

Universal Studios was fun especially the main tour. Curtis is still talking

about the fake earthquake special effects. However, if you have a sensative

child, or one that scares easily, it might not be a good idea.

Jin and others travelling to CA..

We stayed at the " Summerfield Suites by Wyndham " , at Chatsworth in November,

on the great advice of Doris in land. If you are coming from long way,

and staying a week or so this is the perfect place. There are 1 and 2 br

suites which suit families of various sizes!. We even entertained there -

well ordered in, Chatsworth is in the Northwest Corner of LA county, about 6

miles north of Ventura Blvd and Woodland Hills. Lassen Street is off Topanga

Canyon Blvd. and about 10 miles from Dr G. A small commute - takes 20 mins,

but in the end the facility was excellent. Our rate then was $189 per night

for a 2 br suite. - includes great kitchen, fridge, oven/cooktop,

microwave, coffee machine, broadband internet, 3 tv's!!!, video etc. (The

Marriott at Woodland Hills for reference is $169 for 1 room). Days Inn is

closer to Dr G and cheaper but has only one suite which is always booked -

this is fine if you are in and out in a day or two.

I did talk to the manager there about other parents coming in...and he

agreed to give a very good rate. He has kept his word!

My friend and his family stayed at " Summerfield Suites by Wyndham at

Chatsworth " for a week, two weeks ago, having their Dr G consult and seeing

various other professionals. They got a 2 br suite for $129 per day for 5-6

days!! My friend said its just brilliant, and despite the cool whether the

pool is a great bonus for the kids. The other thing he said was brilliant is

getting a Hertz car with the satellite navigation system - punch in where

you want to end up and the system just takes you - so long as you steer the

car!! You can pick up Hertz cars either at the Airport, or from the Hertz

office at the Warner Centre Marriott in Wooodland Hills - book in the

internet - it works!

I know many people have asked same question. Witch hotel to stay

while visit Dr. Goldberg?

The whole family is going there for five days. We are planning on go

to Disney Land the day before we visit Dr. Goldberg. for Three day

after, I am planning on go to San Diego to visit Lego World, Sea

world and may be the Zoo. Have any of you have any suggestions on

where to stay, where to get good price on tickets for those

attractions, which park is good to visit.

no dairy and whole wheat. I really need suggestion on how to spend

less and max the fun for children as we will not know when is next

time we can afford go there.

I have got very good deal on ticket, and working on hotel tickets as

the visit will be in 2 ½ weeks.

Thanks for the suggestions.

We have never been southern California, although I credit the

Silicon Valley for 's problem.

Is one day enough for Disneyland? Children like Disney animations,

but my girl is not big fan of prince, princess, king, or queen. But

Natural Disasters are big for both or them. I will remember to find

some ear plugs. Both of them are having trouble with sound.

Are Lego Land and Sea world good place to visit? Both kids are big

fan of LEGO and Ocean animals.

Did you visit both LA and San Diego? If so, did you have to book

hotel in 2 different places or do you stay in one place and just

drive every day? How long was the drive from LA to Lego land and Sea

world? I know the distance is about 110 miles.

By the way, for Disneyland, if you bring a letter stating your child's diagnosis

from your doctor, or a copy of your child's IEP (the page with the

diagnosis/eligibility), you can get a special needs pass, which will get you

right on all the rides and you can avoid waiting in line. I've found this also

to be true at many other attractions, museums, etc. At Disneyland, after you go

through the gates, on the left you will see " City Hall " . They will take care of

it for you.

We took our son there last week for his birthday...the first day was a Thursday

and we didn't need the pass much because it wasn't crowded, but Friday the place

was mobbed. The pass was a real blessing!

Yes, Disneyworld also has a Special Needs pass. You can get it

at " City Hall " just inside the main gate.

Yes, we just got back from Disney in Florida. You can go to the " town hall "

inside the park and tell them about your child and you should receive the

pass. It works on most things. We did bring our child's IEP for

documentation, but they didn't even ask for anything. You'll enjoy it!
