My Lil payge she always cracks a up. Everything she does it's so entertaining to sit there and watch her. Like she knows what "no" means but when we say no, stop, get down etc she will give you a kiss. And then go right back to doing what you told her not to do. Like she thinks if she gives you a kiss you forget you told her not to. I love it

Spit fire, that is a very positive way of looking at those terrible twos tantrums! I sometimes do wonder if we let him get away with more, because of his scoliosis. Does anyone else wonder that at home? Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2.5 years old, in 5th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 23)To:

I love everyone's Challenge time posts!!! They always make me smile.Bex still cracks us up all of the time. He has a toddler easel and asks for paper and draws all day. One day recently he finished a drawing, pointed at it and said "Mommy, Daddy" and walked away. It's a pretty good pen drawing of us, which is now on the fridge. Mommy has a big chest and Daddy is hairy. Hee-hee!He has a great sense of humor, check out the "cat fends off bear" video online, he is rolling with laughter every time he sees it! So funny. The language skills just floor us, he says to me "wiggle our hips" and we dance around. He was putting toys on a wooden duck that rocks slightly, and Nick was saying "The frog is on the duck", etc...so Bex climbed on it himself and announced "I'm on the duck ! I'm on the duck!!!" : )My little monkey man is pure love!!!

Heidi, I know that I let her get away with more, I guess it's because I factor in all the stuff she has to go through. She whines constantly, which is something that never would have gotten away with at that age! I think at 's age now she gets why. lets Nora get by with alot more too when she's wearing a cast, I've noticed!

Since i just spilled an entire glass of vanilla vodka and coke on the floor to manevaure the computer around so i can post this i forgot my point but i think it was that Isaiah is almost 18 mos old and i dont think that he does anything maliciously or with will intent. If he bites its just out of teething or lack of language abilities to say what he needs. Althought i know he is behind on his language skills i never see temper tantrums....maybe its the vodka i smell????

LOL!!

Heidi, I thought that Nora would've said something by now but she hasn't. The lady that watched her when I worked had custody of her grandkids and whenever she come over with her new cast they'd always want to see what color it was and want to "knock, knock" on it, she used to call it her knock, knock. They thought she was cool because she got to wear different colors! We do treat her with alot of the same expectations as most children her age but some we've just grown accustomed to letting her slide. Potty training for instance is something that I could probably push a little harder, but I don't. The fact that I don't push it as hard or trying to wean off a sippy cup is because I know she'll be my last one! I know "BAD MOMMY!" LOL

ALL the time and my sister tells me not to let him walk all over us even though he has scoli. But it's easier said than done. Honestly we really let him get away with alot when he was first casted but now we have gotten better about discipline and rules. ALL the time and my sister tells me not to let him walk all over us even though he has scoli. But it's easier said than done. Honestly we really let him get away with alot when he was first casted but now we have gotten better about discipline and rules. Spit fire, that is a very positive way of looking at those terrible twos tantrums! I sometimes do wonder if we let him get away with more, because of his scoliosis. Does anyone else wonder that at home?

You're funny, but I agree, at under 3, they are aren't too young to tell "no" to of course, but they are just testing their limits. Bex is very strong willed and will throw a tantrum because I won't give him ice cream for breakfast, with screaming and writhing on the floor. I have to ask myself, is he in pain? Is the cast pinching him when he arches his back like that, etc...I walked out of the room this AM and he gave up, and just followed me inside like nothing happened! It's a fine line in dealing with these strong willed kids in somewhat special circumstances...good thing they're so cute! If he bites its just out of teething or lack of language abilities to say what he needs. Althought i know he is behind on his language skills i never see temper tantrums.... maybe its the vodka i smell????

That sounds very normal, testing limits again...Bex hits me in the face, but it's not malicious- it's more like- get out of the way of Elmo, Mommy! I do tell him not to hit Mommy. Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2.5 years old, in 5th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 23)

Heidi,

Isabella has always been easy going until her last casting. She is now starting to mimic her brother who likes to hit and I yelled at her and said "No, we do not hit!" She just looked at me and said in the sweetest voice, "Why momma, why?" Patty, mom of Isabella, 2 years old, in 4th cast (Rochester) & mom to & Evan

Spit fire, that is a very positive way of looking at those terrible twos tantrums! I sometimes do wonder if we let him get away with more, because of his scoliosis. Does anyone else wonder that at home?

Joan,

It is hard because I worry a lot and know he has to go back for another MRI and cast in 2 weeks and the little one doesn't even know...so if he asks for a cookie, it's like, okay! We are working on putting our foot down more. Heidi, Bexon's Mama, (2.5 years old, in 5th cast from Salt Lake City Shriners, currently down from 61 degrees to 23)

ALL the time and my sister tells me not to let him walk all over us even though he has scoli. But it's easier said than done. Honestly we really let him get away with alot when he was first casted but now we have gotten better about discipline and rules.
