Utah has a smoking ban as well. Smoking is only allowed in private buildings. (houses and bars)sea_girl111 wrote:

Hi all,

I'm new to the group and want to introduce myself. I'm Sydney and I love to

workout to DVD's. I'm in the Army and have been working out for a long time.

Because I'm not as consistent as I should be, I don't really make any headway on

losing weight.

Hi Sydney,

Welcome to the group! We're all a bit excited today because one of our long-time

members had her baby today! Many of us have followed Darcy through her

pregnancy, as she did workouts up until the very last day!!

We all pull for each other here -- I've gotten encouragement to try workouts

that I thought were beyond me, and I've been encouraged to watch what I eat and

even to learn to run all over again.

We all sort of do our own thing together here!

Hi Sydney,

Yes, welcome, Sydney!  Are there any exercise classes and such you can take onsite? Alas, diet is 80% of the weight loss equation, and it's what I struggle with too.  My workouts are intense but I can be a big party animal when I want to be.  I decided to sign up for a bodybuilding compeition in March.  I haven't paid my $ because I need to consult with my trainer first (Noel, who I talk about a lot, many of his clients go pro, esp this year) and make sure I " m not way out of my league but I'm training and eating as if I were.  I have 30 lbs of fat to lose and lots of muscle to gain.

Hey , just a thought... if you are "way out of your league" is there a more introductory competition available? And if not, it might be worthwhile (if it isn't too expensive anyway) just to experience it and to use it as a way to push yourself harder? Just random thoughts...

Hello,

Carolyn, I'm still learning how to reply from my phone without logging into the

group messages but it doesn't seem to be working.

I'm 42 and live in Hawaii. I'm Active Duty Army for a few more months. I have 3

kids; 19 yr boy, 17 yr boy and 2 yr girl. I've been doing DVDs since I've

learned about Cathe in 2006. Since then, I'm almost embarrassed to say that I've

collected all kinds of DVDs because I'm a home body at times, and i like to

workout from home. Bt on the flip side, I sometimes hang out at the gym. I guess

that I just love fitness!!! I like bootcamp type workouts the best, then ballet

type and finally... strength training.

I hope to be an active member in this group.

I'm former Air Force -- but that was many moons ago. I'm 53 now, and only did my

education obligation. I had a love/hate relation with the military, and it's

probably good that I left.

I've only been doing DVDs a little less than a year, but I've made some real

improvements in that time! Lost 30 lbs, got off my blood pressure meds, and got

rid of a number of aches and pains!

I like Chalene , Sansone, Kathy and Cathe Friedrich -- I may

be adding Gilad to that list, too!

I'm in Indiana!
