I know we haven't been in the trenches like you guys have - we will only be getting our first cast in a few weeks - but I have found that the more I speak about Londynn's situation, what the doctors expect, what we expect, etc - that people are more sensitive to the situation. I walked away hoping that Liv wouldn’t notice, but of course she did……….Before I could distract her, she decided to walk right up to the girls and said, “ What, haven’t you ever seen a cast before?†You should have seen the looks on their faces!!!! After all, this was coming from a 2.5 ft. tall 3 yr. old who had been taught better manners (and not to stare). They were embarrassed and they should have been! I don’t why I shared that…..I think because it reminded me of the stares/ the repeated explanations, and people thinking it was brace!
