Jan - thanks for that info! I had no idea it was still around. I

guess the HMO

doc was pushing the brand that gave her the biggest kick back! I was

totally

lied to. Amazing.

Good to meet you too! Looking forward to the Oct. meeting. Hopefully

I'll have

some good news about my med by then. Just started today and so far,

so

good, as far as I can tell.

Talked to my cousin in KC who went through hypo hell a few years

back.

Really crashed after moving from Chicago to KC. She got a referral

from her

gyn to an endo in KC who gave her Armour!!! She said she was better

in just a

week, and continued to progress. I am so happy for her. I have now

forgotten

the endo's name, but have emailed her to get it. I'd like to pass it

on to the

group that would cover KS and MO, in case they are looking for this

type of

doc. My cousin said she is great and is very highly thought of. How

would I get

the info to those folks?

Sara

PS - off topic ?s - is there a way to get rid of these #*!!*@**#

Yahoo ads that

appear all the time? and, how do I post so that the lines don't keep

truncating

so weirdly? I see that you can post with your own typeface. I'm on an

iMac and

use IntExplorer.

> Both Nasalide and Beconase are glucocorticoids. I am not sure

exactly how

they interact with thyroid hormones, but they do so in similar

fashion to

cortisol.

>

> Nasalide is still on the market, but under a generic name.

Strangely enough,

it is still considered to be a brand name drug by my insurance

company,

because it is the one made by the original manufacturer, Bausch and

Lomb. It

is now called " flunisolide. "

> Walgreen's did not have it, but I found some at CVS.

Speaking of meetings... how would you feel about having the October

18th meeting at the same place? Panera was a pretty easy spot to get

to, and had plenty of parking. Does that sound okay?

oh, that's right. I didn't like having to leave either. I think the

Corner Bakery is a much better idea. That's basically just up the road.

Cat

> Actually, I found out where the Corner Bakery is. I was looking too

far north. It is actually at 4019 Villanova, in the shopping center on

the southeast corner of Preston and Northwest Highway. But Panera was

good, too. The only thing I did not like was that they closed so early.

Okay. Now tell us the real reason you got 86'd from the other place and had to find a new location. Wasn't it a little more than dancing on the tables? These rowdy thyroid groups, I swear! :o)

Cathryn was actually quite well behaved. . . . .but then she not only had her husband there, but also her MOTHER!

Now if you want to see a rowdy thyroid group, go to Seattle. They have a meeting every month, including a "spa day" every now and then with facials and massages. . . .the group has been taken over by three hypers. . . .Buffy the Vampire Slayer, KarlaJeanBean and RubyRedLara. . . . Hahaha -- HOG the covers? Is that a subtle reference to Armour as well as to the chills of hypoland?

You know about the hypo dating scene these days, don't you?

Hypo guy says to hypo gal, "Wanna go to bed with me?"

Hypo gal replies, "Sure, just don't hog the covers." Debbie W wrote:

No, if they were on Armour, they would not be too worried about the covers. . . .

And then there was the senior singles bar, where the most common pick-up line is , "Hello, Beautiful! Do I come here often?"
