Guest guest
i started rebounding today. ive had to leave most of my other rotations behind for now due to injury -- which is a shame because i was enjoying powerfit and others, although i was not enjoying the pain. anyway the workout was fun... i did the first half of power jump vol 1 which was made by power systems - the latin america branch. so the instructors speak Portuguese (right?). interestingly, they would say a word in english once in a while. i dont know what year this video was shot but one of the songs was YMCA and another was 'toxic' by britney spears (both with english lyrics) and the instructor would kind of sing along at times . so it was really funny to be hearing them speak, but not really paying attention because i dont know the language, then hearing them blurt out 'step touch', 'toxic' and 'YMCA'...LOL you dont need to speak the language to do this video... the movements are basic and after a short time you get to know what their words and gestures are for things like a double rep (easy one!) and running, etc. there is a little warmup done on the floor first. the whole thing is like a les mills video which is associated with power systems somehow (cant recall how - pinky ?) the instructors are high energy and very smiley they crack me up when they hold a pose at the end of each song (like how the old firm workouts used to!) the whole workout is around an hour... good basic cardio. i only had time for the first half (have a 5 hour shift this afternoon, running around the deli and lifting heavy boxes) but that was good for this morning. pinky, you could do this one! i had to tone it down in a few places but im a bit out of shape cardiovascularly and you are a runner! afterward i did part of rodney yee am yoga monday which is about 20 mins.. i did about 10. it was ok but i should have done an athletic stretch after rebounding. it was hard to calm down and hold yoga poses so tomorrow i will know better. i weighed myself today and it says that im down 10 pounds from my last weigh in many months ago! i knew that i was a bit lighter but not that much. i think that my fat has shifted around... i used to carry it in my butt, thighs and hips and had a flat stomach. now those areas butt are a bit smaller but my gut is big... argh! stupid hormones or something, i dont know. i dont really know where that 10 pounds came off of, but eating alot less food has really helped i hope that my appetite does not get out of control again now that im doing more cardio. weights are certainly worse in that way for me. :*carolyn. .... have to do something with chinook tonight... hopefully not too tired

Guest guest
I have these too and like Cola Pop said they are easy to follow, because the quality is so high like other Les Mills type workouts (this set is put out I believe by Group Fitness which used own Les MIlls, I believe - the 2 are very similar to one another for example Body Pump is Group Pump, RPM is Group Ride, etc) The moves are pretty basic, it's well cued, you just watch and do what they do. I speak Spanish and had a Portuguese guy friend when I was going to school in Spain so it's not totally foreign to me though.. Basic bounce, > How cool, a Portuguese workout! hi nancy! welcome back! you will lose those 2 pounds quickly i know! i know that it sounds funny... doing a portuguese workout.... but there just arent that many rebounding workouts out there. well, the urban rebounding extreme set did come out recently but i have to work my way up to its extreme-ness. these power jump workouts are much easier but still a good cardio workout, and of course, you get what you put into it. i happen to have a bunch of these so im going to do them for a little while before moving on to the first urban rebounding set. and im looking forward to converting my old fitprime g-force (2004:tracie long) vhs to digital format (avi) and rebounding with tracie again, for old times sake. :*carolyn.
