Wonder if anyone has any advice. I ordered Nucleomaxx and have taken my first series of doses. The question I have is that the direction from Nucleomaxx says to take it 3 times a day for 3 day in a row once a month. The study referenced below said that the patients were given daily doses. Anyone knows how to take this stuff. Thanks.crunchtm wrote: HIV & You: What Sugar Cane Can DoBjorn Falck MadsenTuesday, November 29, 2005It's nothing new that antiretroviral drugs cause nasty side effectsdue to a form of cellular meltdown known as mitochondrial toxicity. Itis new, however, that you can reverse these problems with a naturalextract made from sugar cane. Promising new studies were presentedthis month at an international AIDS conference in Dublin.Every cloud has a silver lining, apparently also the dark cloud ofnasty side effects that casts its shade on patients who receivetreatment with antiretroviral medicine. Quite unexpectedly, theanemia, diarrhea, malfunctioning of nerves, muscle weakness andunsightly redistribution of body fat (lipoatrophy) appears to bereversible — at least to some extent — thanks to a food supplementcalled Nucleomaxx.A food supplement consisting of an extract from sugar canes with ahigh content of nucleosides, Nucleomaxx is intended to give the immunesystem and mitochondrial activity a boost. This can be of particularinterest and benefit for patients on anti-HIV medicine, since thisclass of drugs is known to inhibit the formation of mitochondrial DNAand therefore has a number of side effects such as anemia, malfunctioning of the nerves, liver toxicity, muscle weakness, increased production of lactic acid and a distinct redistribution ofbody fat.At the 10th European Aids Conference in Dublin, some exciting newstudies were presented. In one study conducted by American and Germanresearchers, 14 HIV-positive individuals on continuous treatment withStavudine (d4T) were given daily doses of Nucleomaxx for a period of16 weeks. As a result of this, their lipoatrophy scores improvedsignificantly with no side effects.INCREASED BODY FATSimilarly, in a Finnish study of 20 patients with HAART-associatedlipoatrophy, treatment with Nucleomaxx resulted in a 26-percentincrease in total limb fat mass, a 9-percent increase in truncal fatmass and a 13-percent increase in total body fat mass. Finally, a German study of 14 lipoatrophic HIV-infected patients whowere given Nucleomaxx together with their standard anti-HIV medicationshowed that Nucleomaxx effectively improved the patients' liver function.VISIBLE IMPROVEMENTSNucleomaxx represents a regular breakthrough, showing that its activecomponent, uridine, allows the antiretroviral drugs to fight the HIVvirus, only with considerably fewer side effects. Uridine reduces thetoxicity of the drugs by preventing damage to the mitochondria, theenergy-producing powerhouses of the cells. Treatment with Nucleomaxxhas been shown to help HIV patients regain fat on the arms and legsand to improve liver function.EFFECTIVE CELL REPAIRWhat causes cells to break down in the first place is thatantiretroviral drugs (the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors)not only attack and destroy reverse transcriptase, the enzyme whichHIV uses to replicate itself, but also the very similar enzyme calledpolymerase gamma, which mitochondria use to multiply. This results ina severe loss of healthy mitochondria and subsequent cellulardysfunction, whilst HIV is efficiently suppressed. The longer a persontakes these drugs, the more likely MT is to occur. With Nucleomaxx, itis possible for the first time to benefit from the drug therapy andstill manage to prevent the undesirable side effects. For more information about Nucleomaxx, visit e-nutrient.com.
