I have him on 1/2 pill before each meal. Is this > a die-off or am I giving too much? Sounds like a possible reaction to the enzyme. Does he have a papain/bromelain problem? If so, consider AFP Peptizyde. If he is not already gfcf, might be withdrawal symptoms from that. Dana
Guest guest
Can die-off occur when addressing a high strep titer with antibiotics? Ben has been AWFUL for 2-3 weeks (about the same amt. of time as he's been on the antibiotic). He is extremely irritable and very defiant. Anyone with a similar experience? Thanks! Guest guest
> Evening! Morning! >>On Wednesday night on an empty stomach, we gave our son 1/4 of a capsule of Culturelle (2.5 billion Lactobacillus GG) right before heading to bed. We gave him that dose again upon waking on Thursday. Thursday he had less stimming, better ABA sessions (more attentive, more language and great articulation), and no BM. He got 1/4 cap. of Culturelle before bed on Thursday and upon waking this morning. He had nice ABA sessions and had an average day stim-wise. He had a " perfect " BM at 2:00 pm and I celebrated (too soon). He since has had 2 more BMs. The first was stinkier and softer than his 2:00 BM...but not " concerning. " I just changed his third BM about 15 minutes ago and the potency of the odor is still with us! Loose with " curds " and yellowish. The circles under his eyes have darkened a bit more. This was my son's exact experience with Culturelle. I kept using it for two more weeks, hoping it was die off, but it wasn't. So for my son, Culturelle helped get rid of his existing bacteria issue, but as soon as the bms were formed again, I had to remove it or things would deteriorate. It might be die off for your child, so you can continue if you want. But if things don't improve again, consider removing the Culturelle. Good luck.
