Guest guest
Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you all know I had my first conference with Chelsea's teacher, School Nurse and 3 other teachers today, it went rather well however I went in thinking I was going to put Chelsea on an IEP, well this did not happen. I was told that Chelsea is doing very well academically and is excelling in most of her subjects and that is why they feel an 504 would be more beneficial to her. I also had a side bar meeting with the school nurse because I felt she needed to know how wrong she was to send Chelsea away from her office three times telling Chelsea was not ill (Had no fever) and she should return to class. This was unacceptable behavior as normally the week before IVIG Chelsea gets bad headaches and body aches and looks rather fatigue. Yesterday was IVIG and it went really smooth! By 7:30 last night she had sever migraine and stomach pain as well as today a full blown sinus infection. Starting Cefzil tonight . Anyway I feel like we accomplished a lot today and they are going to accommodate Chelsea with a cot in the classroom so when she feels fatigue she can lay down and still listen to the lessons, rather then lay down in the nurses office. This was only the first meeting and we are scheduled to meet again after the pediatrician sends in more information. Thank you all for responding to my questions and thank you for helping me go into this meeting today well prepared! Hope all the pumpkins are well!
