Make sure that your mother is getting enough fluid intake that is for one thing.

Water has so many wonderful benefits. Helps aid in digestion, helps keep you

younger!!, Helps flush the toxins from the body. So that will help alot.

And plain old prune juice can help alot with the constipation. Or like my nephew

does, he eats 5 prunes a night before he goes to bed. The next day, he is clean

and clear. *smile*

Hi all,

My mother became ill about a year ago, but doctors were only able to diagnose

PBC and hep C about 3 months ago now. I do not know all the info (she is in

South Africa and I'm CA - headed back there for a bit in 2 weeks.) She had

exceptionally intense itching, and her docs finally found something to help.

They said it was from the bile entering her blood stream that was causing the

itching, and put her on meds. She says they do help, but dry her out horribly.

She now suffers with very dry skin and worst of all, very bad constipation.

Does anyone know of a natural constipation cure ? She has tried many things,

but so far with no luck.

Many thanks,

Shilo

What has proven itself to me beyond any doubt is Japanese miso taken

daily. Made of fermented rice or beans, it mixes well with a cup of

hot water. You can add it to any soup also, but it is fairly salty so

best to add it to unsalted food. Miso is a miracle food in my opinion.

The world is divided into those who are clueless about miso and those

who understand its tremendous benefits. Primarily it helps break food

down by natural bacteria, thus everything moves faster and more

completely through the system. Before treatment when I ate a lot more,

it was a great help to me. Now that I'm eating less on treatment, I

don't seem to need it as much.

Good luck.

I used flax seed meal. I should get back to it. It really did help me a lot.

Currently I don't have a problem with elimination, but it also helps with

clearing out the cholesterol, too.

Hi,

First of all, I should tell you that a year ago, I had gastric bypass

surgery, from which I lost over 100 pounds. One of the realities of this

surgery is that I must take2000mg of calcium citrate (carbonate is not as

good for you as you think) daily, and believe me constipation sometimes is a

really big issue. For me, drinking 96oz of water daily and 500-1000 mg of

magnesium keeps me regular. That, along with flaxseed, which I find 4

tablespoons sprinkled on anything from scrambled eggs to any meal that will

go with it, keeps me from aggravating my rectocele, which I'm sure some of

us mothers know about.

I go with the Milk of Magnesia as well from time to time, but now that I'm

doing these things, I stay more regular daily, and it's a healthier way of

doing it.

I used flax seed meal. I should get back to it. It really did help me a lot.

Currently I don't have a problem with elimination, but it also helps with

clearing out the cholesterol, too.

Oh, by the way. 96oz of water isn't really a lot. It's a little more than

drinking four bottles of Dasani or Aquafina, and it's actually something we

all should do. It's done wonders for my skin.
