Good luck in the morning. Hope all goes well.Brace life has its good and bad times. went right into a brace from wearing a cast for 14 months straight. So he had no problems with it at all.And for a while did very good with it. It was only as he got older that he could talk to me and tell me he didn't want to wear it. And that all started when he went to wearing it only at night.OK all that being said, it truly has to do with how you handle the brace. If you give in to taking it off at first then they will continue to bug you to have it off. I remember his doctor telling me, "Don't ever take it off if he cries for it off." And I never did.Anyway to help with Liam's core strength I think the brace would be great. was able to

have his off and do some exercises to help with that.He wore it 23 hrs a day for 10 months. We take it off for bathing, exercises and water fun(too young to swim at the time). He wore a TLSO brace. And his was molded from a body mold while he was under. You have some time to decide and hopefully his curve will be ready for it. How old is Liam? Question about braces

Hi all,

Liam's cast is off for the day. The new one is being put on tomorrow first thing (8AM).

No X-Rays but his back looks SO MUCH better, the ribs are not sticking out so much. You can still see it of course, but less. Dr. keeps telling me there is no point to do an X-Ray out of cast, if it's not going to change the treatment at this point (this is the second cast only). I agree, I just want to know.

He mentioned he is part of a research group about Early Onset Scoliosis (great!) and they are thinking about working agressively with casting during the winter months and giving a break during the summer, and keeping children in a brace. That SCARES me, but I know some doctors do that.

First, what do you think about the break (in a brace of course)?

What kind of brace have your doctors used for that?

I know I'm going way ahead of things here, but you all know we have to get ahead of the doctors sometimes :-)

Thank you..
