Guest guest
When my daughter was 9 mos. old, she couldn't hold her head up either. By the time she was 11 mos. old - she could & she was turning over from front to back. She took her 1st unassisted steps when she was 16 1/2 mos. old. For a few months after that, she crawled more then walked. By 2 years old, she was walking on her own everywhere. She is now 4 years old, & walks about equivalent to a 2-3 year old. She also climbs everywhere & has recently taken to opening the refrigerator & helping herself to whatever is her fancy ( never a good thing !!! ). She also suffered from West Syndrome ( Infantile Spasms ) . We 1st noticed them when she was about 4 mos. old. This helped her to get her diagnosis . She was 1st diagnosed with Cerebral Cortical Dysgenesis. This was further refined to Congenital Bilateral Perisylvian Syndrome, & then even further refined to Bilateral Perisylvian Polymicrogyria. This last diagnosis was given by Dr. Dobyns. He's a Neuronal Migration Specialist, & works out of the University of Chicago. He has written many papers on Neuronal Migration Disorders, & even did research for the Human Genome Project...Just ask, & someone in this group will provide you with the necessary information for you to get in contact with him. He used medical reports & MRI films ( that we mailed to him ), to diagnose my daughter Crystal. We never went to see him, personally. The best of luck with your little Nokl... Our daughter was placed in Early Intervention at 8 mos. of age. I believe that this helped her greatly, to make the developmental strides that she did... Get your son into as many programs as you can, as soon as possible !!! Love & Light... - mommy of Crystal Aquielle - 4 years old - Bilateral Perisylvian Polymicrogyria - grade 3 & the love of our lives !!!!
