Guest guest
Yes, I picked up on that myself, with the bioequivalency issue. There's no such thing at this point, but I wish there were. This may be more of a laugh than anything, but wouldn't it be interesting if HYPERthyroid people could donate all that extra thyroid hormone to those that are HYPO, lol?! If we could only figure out a way to harness and bridle it. I can see it now, becoming a dangerous underground industry, full of dishonest hire-for-thyroid capturers, teehee! People are investigated to see what their thyroid problems are, then are captured and dragged away on the street. Then they find out later that their contribution makes them AND someone else well, but the government or the pharmaceutical industries can't find out about it, though, because everyone will go to jail for feeling better, including the contributors and receivers! It would be sort of like the French Underground during WWII, but............oops! I am far fetched and inbetween this morning already. Yeh, I think I did compare them to the Nazis too, didn't I? Re: A Great Website There is only one problem with this site. They do not do much documentation for their positions. I would not take it as gospel. They state one thing that I know is flat not true. They say that Armour is bio-equivalent to human thyroid. It is not. It is however the closest thing to BE we can get. They do take some very thought-provoking positions, however. I like this site, but I would use it as a jumping-off point for further research, not as the final answer.
Guest guest
As long as I could test myself AND interpret the tests, I would. Not anything but hydrocortisone in the small dose, but making sure that I monitor with blood work often, til I'm sure where I stand there. Yes, I know, I had ordered and started the NutriMeds Bovine Adrenal Glandular, but everytime I had taken it for a few days, here would come symptoms that I just wasn't comfortable with. I think I've pretty much found out what it is that is producing these symptoms----adrenaline. And when I heard that, I realized, hey, it IS the whole glandular, after all, that would go to reason that there would also be the adrenaline in there, which IS a whole different matter from cortisol. I do believe that I need cortisol, but I don't believe that I need the adrenaline. I know that there are many people who do very well on the whole substance because, frankly, their entire adrenal glands may be shot to heck, including most of the major substances, and that would be adrenaline also. So, therefore, they're going to feel great taking the adrenaline also because they need it. Some people don't, and some people do, but I think I'm one of the ones that don't need that part of the adrenal substances. I think that the hydrocortisone in a few 2.5 mg doses would be the one. Re: A Great Website I would not mess with direct self-medication of adrenals. I would also be wary of anything bovine except steaks, chops and roasts. There is an herbal product you can buy in the healthfood store that contains licorice. The one I have used in the past is called "GlucoBoost" by Solaray. That is as far as I would go without a doc. Someone on About Thyroid suggested that maybe someone from Nutrameds wrote the site.
