Joan,

Poor Hayden :( I feel so bad for the little guy. I hope he adjusts to it soon that he will have to wait on a bath.

While sponge bathing Hayden tonight he said, "take a tubby mamma"? My heart just broke b/c it was the first time he asked me about a bath since his cast. Joan,It breaks my heart for you and HIM! When started asking I would give him his sponge bath and then fill the sink half way with water, cover as much as I could of his cast and let him play with his hands in the water. No it was not bathing, but he got to touch the water. Feel it and play with bath toys. I of course had to stand there the WHOLE time to make sure he did not get soaked. He really loved being able to do this.Just a thought.FYI-to cover his cast I went to Sally Beauty Supply and bought a kids cape for hair cutting. Velcroed around his neck and then I would pin it in the back. His arms were free to play. TashaMommy of 4 year old twin boys- and Fort Worth, TexasSeries of 6 casts

I had that on Sunday with Grace :( Then tonight I was sponge bathing her and she asked to put her feet in the basin, so I let her. Then she asked to sit in it and I of course had to say no. So she sufficed with sitting on my lap with her feet soaking in the tub. She refused to take her feet out for about a 1/2 hour. I hope it gets easier...

Ahhhh Joan that's not a minor issue at all. You must have felt so sad. I know with Peyton, he is still to young you notice he isn't in the "tubby" anymore so he doesn't say anything but I think I miss it more than him. I used to love giving him baths and he used to love it too. I really miss that time with him and it is sad so try not to feel too bad and just try to think about when he will be able to have a "tubby" again.

They dont do it that way at ish Rite. They change the cast out all at one time. But I am going to ask if we can go home and come back the next day since we live so close. I really would like to bathe my child.. Joanmom to Hayden 2 1/233 degrees1st cast down from 62 degrees Treated at ish Rite Hospital Dallas, TX

When we took back for the first time to get his changed, he took almost a two hour bath. It was the first time I ever used bubbles and he had a blast.Beth RettingerMother Of In First Cast From SLC

While sponge bathing Hayden tonight he said, "take a tubby mamma"? My heart just broke b/c it was the first time he asked me about a bath since his cast. I just feel sad, b/c I had to say no to him and try to explain that we can't take a bath with his "jacket" on. "But one day when it comes off you can take as many as you want". Just wanted to vent, I know it's a very minor issue on this group, but I know you all understand. Thanks
