At 's last psychiatrist appt I had mentioned that

wants to come off the Celexa; and he said, of course, to wait for

summer.... And he said we could make the therapy appt (for CBT)

when we made out next appt for to see him/psych.

So I called our insurance (finally, I've been lazy) today and the

therapy (CPT 90806) is covered. So I called and got our next psych

appt for end of May and set up the therapy appt that day too.

Insurance said we could have medication mgmt and therapy the same

day; stressed that, as said can't have 2 on same levels (re type

visit?) on same day.

I left a message for the psych to call me as I want to go ahead and

begin slowly lowering 's Celexa dose so that he'll be lower by

the end of May and begin therapy then. What I'm hoping is that we can

be low enough to try " med free " this summer and see how things go. I

just don't know how low we should try for, as I'm not sure just how

fast you can come down (lower dosage) on the Celexa. (which I'm sure

that varies from person to person too)

Now I have to confess I went ahead and lowered him to 40mg from the

50mg already, without telling the psych. Is that bad??

would just like to quit, I'm letting him skip a dose each week. I

think he'd like to try skipping 2 doses in a row; might let him try

on a weekend. says he feels MUCH clearer-headed when he

misses his dose and HE SAYS much more capable of fighting off OCD on

his own than when on the medicine. That make sense??

So - despite that at one time his OCD was pretty bad, he has been

better overall and not gone back to that first severity. So I'm

going to trust in and see what happens as we quit this med.

I was planning to put back on inositol. But part of me is

curious as to what would " no meds " be like. So I'm not sure yet.

Inostiol will be what he goes on first if OCD acts up again, since

wasn't liking the Celexa.

Then again, things could pick up quickly as we lower the Celexa, OCD

might get worse. SIGH! So I don't guess I should plan too far ahead

now anyway.

That's our update. (quickly typed and not proofread!!)
