Guest guest
Hello all- Have any of you had experience unsing inositol in a child with ADHD (specifically inattentive ADHD in our case)? My daughter is doing quite well on Lexapro and CBT for OCD and Concerta for her ADHD. However, as I was reading Dr. Penzel's site about inositol, I was intrigued by the potential 'booster' effect of inositol for picking behaviors. Picking is very hard for Anne to control (we go through GOBS of gum - pun intended - to try to counteract the urge), and she is interested in trying inositol. In our experience, the medication that helps the OCD exacerbates the ADHD and vice versa. I just wondered if there was any experience out there regarding inositol and ADHD? Thanks much- (Ohio)

I think had listed this site earlier. It is purely an anecdotal article, but I was intrigued nonetheless that there were some patients who experienced a positive booster benefit. As I mentioned, my daughter has both OCD and ADHD (inattentive), and we've found a very reasonable balance between her Lexapro and Concerta. I really don't want to rock the boat, but thought Inositol might be worth a try since we can increase slowly and it seems to be excreted quickly should we run into any untoward side effects.
