Guest guest
Today my friend Jim came over to Studio LouLou for kickboxing and yoga. I hadn't done Body Combat in awhile, and picked a virgin, #42. I loved it, as usual. There were two awesome song remakes - one originally done by Kiss " I Was Made for Loving You " and another from my favorite opera, The Carmina Burnana, the ever famous " O Fortuna " . The section in this one that stands out to me is the legwork done with capoeira, that had lots of low jengas and pulsing lunges that went into front push kicks. Usually the abs in Les Mills workouts aren't that challenging, as I'm used to doing Turbo Kick abs which are always much harder. I must say for Body Combat 42 thought that abs did not disappoint, and I think I impressed Jim that I could do all the pushups and plank work at the end on my toes. We were both a sweaty mess at the end. Jim started singing part of the cool down and dang if he doesn't have an exceptional voice! I asked him if he did karaoke and he said yes, and would I like to go tonite? Sure! I've never done it and don't intend on drinking tonite so I'm not sure if I'll actually sing but I need to take advantage of every opportunity to get out of the house on this staycation until I get to meet Stacey at the airport! I CAN HARDLY WAIT TIL YOU GET HERE, STACEY! Girl we are gonna have FUN and we will jointly record our workout reviews here. Can't wait to see what she thinks of Noel's leg workout <evil laugh>. Next Jim and I did the restorative yoga practice from Eoin Finn's Blissology Project, which is a 43 minute long yoga practice. You hold the poses for a good length of time, but they aren't necessarily all stretchy poses, you do hold some strength poses for a spell also. I loved it, it is just what these beat up muscles needed. Tomorrow an acquaintance from high school who I reunited with on Facebook, Angel, and I are going running in Oregon City tomorrow morning. I'm looking forward to it! It is so pretty here in Portland. Today is the first day of my Diet though I can tell you now my cheat day wll be on Thursday for my dad's birthday at Amalfie's Pizza. I won't have beer but I'm gonna enjoy every bite of that pizza!
