The pharmacists did give me the brand Levoxyl after some discussion. Either I have a problem with some ingredients in the generic or still am undertreated on the brand name dosage. But the symptoms only worsened after two days on the generic. I've been on the increased dosage for about a month. Of course, this doctor said nothing about coming back for re-testing. Still haven't located a doctor in my area who takes the hypo problems seriously. TSH is around 2 so I should have no problems!! Just take the prescription and come back in a year. Guest guest Posted August 17, 2004 Report Share Posted August 17, 2004 I would say that the fact that that you've only been on the generic for two days, is an indicator that it is an allergic reaction to some filler ingredient in the generic that is not in the Levoxyl. So the allergists say, it usually takes approximately 3 to 4 days for an allergic reaction to get out of the system, if it is not reintroduced again. I don't see why you can't go ahead and take your dose of regular Levoxyl at this time. T4 is the storage hormone, and I don't see how a slightly over amt of it could make such a difference in two days. I would say yes, if it was T3, since it's effects are immediate, or if you had been on the generic for a week or more, then I would say yes, but I don't see how this is possible after being on it for only two days. I think you're having a violent allergic reaction. You don't have to sneeze or cough to have an allergic reaction, there are also all kinds of different allergic reactions, that are different from this, and nausea and lethargy can be some of them. generic levoxyl > I have been on levoxyl for a couple of years.
