Guest guest
Courtenary, I have the same problem. I keep a jar of Dole fruit in the frig. It is in a plastic container and keeps well. I eat a few bites out of it and put it back till the next time. I also keep baby carrots that are already peeled. Also I keep the whipped yogurt and frozen fruit pops too. I also fix soup in individual servings and store that in the freezer. I hate the trouble of fixing 6 meals a day. Guest guest
Dear -- I read it on the thyroid.about.com website. I think it was located somewhere in the thyroid basic information that is located on the front pages. People have also discussed this subject on the thyroid.about.com message board. I haven't had hunger signals in years; it was the first thing I told the GP when I went to the doctor for regular check-ups from the ages of 22-24. The doctors were totally unsympathetic-- I was already beginning to go hypo then, and didn't know it. I'm not sure why that occurs. I do know when I started to go full hypo that I had no hunger signals and I was having to eat more and more frequently-- something large, once an hour. It even felt as though my body was not translating fuel (food) to energy, because there was no boost after I ate. Really weird. Best wishes-- Courtenay. >Courtenay, >What is this about hypos having no hunger signals? I am hypo and >have few hunger signals but I didn't know it was related to my being >hypo? Guest guest
Dear Debbie-- You have figs??? I love figs more than anything. My favorite thing to do with figs is make a tapas dinner with roasted garlic, fresh bread, figs and a good sharp cheese. I suppose I'd have to add a protein serving now, maybe prosciutto?) My grandparents used to can figs every year with a little lemon zest. It was my grandfather's specialty. Tonight I bagged my first soup. I made a Tuscan bread and tomato soup, which had enough left over for a frozen serving whenever I want it. Your idea was pure genius! Best-- Courtenay. Courtenay, Glad to help. I love homemade soups too. I also make my own chicken broth because canned contains over 1/2 of a day's sodium in just one serving. I love to cook and make most things we eat from scratch. I too garden and have tomatoes, figs, lemons, berries, bell peppers and various herbs growing. There is nothing better than fresh tomatoes and fresh basil, unless it is rosemary and lemon chicken. I could go on, LOL.
