Guest guest
Okay, I didn't do the C25K tonight, but I did do Cathe's Basic Step. I just didn't feel like running as it really gets me terribly exhausted for the rest of the evening. I just started using the calorie counter on my HRM -- I just hadn't learned how to set it properly, and DH asked why I bought it if I didn't use all of it. I have some trouble believing the readouts, though. For instance, tonight's workout of 30 minutes said I burned 522 calories. That sounds way high to me. Are these things very accurate at all? How would one know? Indyrose
Guest guest
Hi Indyrose,What kind of HRM do you have? I have a Polar. It's very, very consistent. One way to know if it reads right is to keep a log and make some comparisons over time.In my case, I don't know if the calorie burn is really reflecting the actual number of calories I've burned, but since the watch reads so consistently, I know how much I personally need to burn per day to keep my weight down. I log it on a spreadsheet. I log my food, my calorie burn, and watch trends on net calories. Okay, I didn't do the C25K tonight, but I did do Cathe's Basic Step.
