, this place sounds WONDERFUL!  I agree that dvd's do provide a nice foundations but it's also nice to get corrected on form from a live instructor and also the group energy can be special too at the right studio.  Please keep reviewing your practices there!

Namaste,

Hi there,I've been doing Cathe's Pyramid Upper Body and Pyramid Lower Body. I'm doing strength almost every other day. I am also bike and/or walk commuting. I do yoga on non-strength days. It's so good to be back on my bike!!!!

My company provides great fitness challenges, and I was able to take a yoga class here:http://www.treeoflife-yoga.com/#!about

This was so wonderful! The rope wall is super cool! You really get an amazing strength and stretch workout out of this. I hope I can squeeze into more of these classes. I have some new things to try with my homemade suspension trainer.

I also wanted to say that my yoga DVDs provided me with a great foundation. Thanks Suzanne Deason and Walden! I already know my body's limits, and I knew when I'd need props, and when I'd be OK without them. I can hold a plank for a really long time, and even though I have really tight hamstrings, I know how to fold at the hip properly for forward bends.  That said, I really learned a lot today! I left feeling really great.

I will definitely take more classes here.

Sounds wonderful! And, I agree the Suzanne Deason, Walden, Rodney Yee, and Body Wisdom DVDs have really taught me a lot about proper postures and how to use props for where I'm at (and where you are at can change from day to day!) I didn't get the same benefits from doing the faster paced power yoga DVDs b/c I was so intent on "keeping up" that I often compromised my form which is probably why I would sometimes find that yoga hurt my back rather than helped it!Donna

Hi Donna,No fast yoga for me either! I wasn't able to attend yesterday's class because it filled up, but that's OK. The classes are offered during our lunch hour. I think I'm going to miss out on the series because of my later shift, but I love my later shift because of my A.M. workouts. Because it's a benefit, and they're trying to be fair, people need to sign up in person.

Now that I know I'm on the right track, I can continue on my own. I really like working at my own pace anyway.I also have a wonderful stretching book, and I think I'm going to start adding extra stretches to my usual yoga routine. It's a stretching anatomy book.  I noticed that the stretches in the book were very similar to some of the poses in this live class. I  might have to check out those Body Wisdom DVDs, but I need to do my Jill s first.

Have a great day!
