Guest guest
Any part of the thyroid gland pushing on the trachea is a problem that demands aggressive action. I would ask for a six month trial of increased meds. I would ask to increase them to tolerance. If that does not work, then I would give serious consideration to surgery. Lynn wrote: PS. Do you guys think that this may be part of the problem of why my thyroid is swollen. I was told it was be! cause of my Hashimotos disease making it that way..... Guest guest
Jan and everyone, I called Dr. P and asked him if I could have my medication increased. He thought it would be best to increase my Levoxyl from 25mcg to 75mcg. I told him I split my meds and take half of the Armour 90 in the morning and then the other half in the afternoon with the 25 mcg of Levoxyl. He recommended that I take half the Armour in the morning with the 75 Levoxyl. Then the other half of the Armour in the afternoon. What do you think? I am hoping this will suppress my Thyroid. Fingers crossed..... Lynn At 07:35 PM 6/24/2004 -0700, you wrote: Any part of the thyroid gland pushing on the trachea is a problem that demands aggressive action. Guest guest
Sounds like a good idea to me, but I do think he's right about taking the greater amt in the morning, IF it is the day that you are awake in. My greater part is at night (Armour) because I work graveyards all the time, not just sometimes, then the smaller dose in the morning, when I come home. On my off days, the only variation is that I miss the dose during the night, but still trying not to change it very much. I do not know whether the bigger night dosing and night work have a strong effect on my adrenals. Possibly, but I don't know for sure. With this increase, just keep VERY close track of the Free blood levels. Re: T-4 question Jan and everyone,I called Dr. P and asked him if I could have my medication increased.
